With a rebuild you could upgrade, which would give you a much stronger motor than just replacing the one you have now. It's pretty much up to you though, depending on how much money you want to spend and what your hp goals are.

I would say rebuild. JDM's are really not good. Yes they might have only 40k miles but you got to think thats a lie. The reason for that is they use kilometers not miles. So 1km is 1.6 miles. Another reason sure that is still less than 100k but look at how many hours it was ran. An average trip in japan is about 10 miles. With the expected time to get from point to point being 1 to 2 hours due to high traffic flow. Thats why alot of people walk. An as stated before every 4 years by law there their engines have to be removed an replaced in the cars. Thats there emission regulations.

You've got your conversions backwards 1.6km in a mile. Go take a look at your speedo (if it has both) The rest is agreeable however I did buy a JDM 1jzgte for a reasonable price that has worked out quite well for me. Since they were never made in the states I didn't have a choice but to import it though.
