RC 1000cc E85..Wacky idc's

I'm not sure what the supra pump floes (just can't remember) but i know when i made the switch to corn fuel i ran out of fuel pump beofre i ran out of injectors.. I was on 720's and was hittting 100% IDC at what was probably airlfow of about 42lb/mn at best

I jusped to 1k's and had the same issue at the same boost and realized it was the pump. put duel pumps in and ran better lines and edverthing was kosher

Another thing that gave me a LOT more fuel was going to a saturn alternator where i had good enough voltage to both feed the pumps and feed the injector(or open them properly)

I had a good tune of 11.5 - 10/0 (which was still too rich on e85) but when i added the better alternator my AFR's went off into the 10's (10.5 and richer)so don't overlook the pump and the voltage to the pump... if you haven't re-wired it that's most liely your issue IMO

RC injectors flow less! That's not what I want to hear. I ended up having a huge boost leak at the injectors. So we are fixing that now. The car couldn't hold more than 5psi. I will report back as soon as we get out tuning again to see if we can at least get respectable numbers out of these injectors.

Yeah, they test them at a much higher base FP than we normally run, and they use a high octane fuel, both giving them higher readings than what most would be at.

Ill only run FIC, PTE, or our brand injectors for that reason. Those are all flow tested at 43.5psi base fuel pressure and with pump gas, so theyre pretty much dead on in our world.

This is great advice, definitely getting an alternator that has more amperage and rewiring your fuel pump to receive every last bit of voltage at WOT is important to keep your IDC's in check.

Another route you should consider instead of getting a Saturn alternator which includes grinding the block and rewiring to get it installed you can take a different route. My GOOD friend suggested running a 97 Galant A/T alternator when I was talking to him about getting a Saturn one for my 2g. The 97 Galant A/T alternators are 90A and bolt perfectly in place of the 2g OEM, it even uses the same connectors so no rewiring is necessary... How bout them apples? ;)

I also noticed lower IDC's rewiring the fuel pump to the alternator instead of the (+) battery terminal.

Just a few things to think about!

I think it's weird they test their stuff at higher FP. That's just a gimmick IMO. 43.5 is 3 bar and is usually the standard for import FP.

You're probably running out of injector and fuel pump. If it's not the injectors it will be soon with that turbo on E85. I've got FIC 950's, a walbro 255hp and I'm kissing 100% IDC at 25-26psi on my TDO5H 20G with E85. That's also with my base fuel pressure raised to 50psi so my walbro is taking a beating at full boost running 75+ psi.

On a side note.. For the saturn alt install, the entire thing cn be done by grinding the alternaaor housing only, you can leave the block and the aluminum piece of the front cover alone if ya take a little extra off the ALT and grind the backing spacer thing that slides in the alt's back lower hole ( if that makes sense)
