randomly died

have a 97 gst bone stock besides a fmic, today i was driving down the road and it randomly died and will not start back up, i cant seem to be able to figure out what it is and it isnt throwing any check engine light or anything, its getting fuel, i checked spark plugs an they seem worn out, but ive never heard of sparkplugs making a car die like this? any ideas on what it could be?

The only times my DSM's ever died liked that was because the capacitors in ecu had failed..

May be your timing belt. That's where I would look. Have you replaced it lately?

Is this a gst or a 420a with turbo. GST has an ignitioin transistor. I've seen those fail hard and car will just die like you shut the car off.

Or check the CAS or the pwer transistor and coil system

I have to agree with bomb91, I bought my car drove it for 4 days and went to start it and nothing. Changed the ignition transistor, coil packs, plugs wires. Made a rookie mistake and never checked for spark initially. Well my ECU was done because of the capacitors were no good. Swapped in a new ECU and started right up. If you have a Hanes manual ect. it shows you how you can check your ignition components to see if they are in spec. I would pull the ECU takes 10-15 minutes crack the cover and inspect the capacitors.
