Calgary,
My rad cracked yesterday at the top (3 inch hairline) and glue (epoxy) won't cut it. Its still spewing through somehow. The dealer wants $500 for a OEM one which I think is a total rip off. I'm on a budget so is there anyway I can repair this?

You might check the FSBO forum here or even the DSMtrader. The cheapest solution will likley be to buy another OEM unit from a fellow tuner with a parts car or who has upgraded. I recently helped install a Griffin "driect replacement" radiator in a GS and it only took us abouit an extra hour or two to relocate the guide pin locations and notch the crossmember to get it in. I hear they run about $500, but boy are they pretty. All aluminum and nearly doubles coolant capacity. :thumb:

That's becoming a more-common occurence. Damned recylable plastics.

Ask any radiator shop, or even a parts shop. Radiators aren't especially high-tech.

All the shops around here are closed :thumbdown until Monday. But yea I'll have to check around.

I hear the aluminum is pretty good, do you know if the Fluidyne rads are any good? I can get it for about the same price as an OEM one so that would work and also be a nice upgrade.

What about those Koyos I see. I also need to replace my radiator but I also need to replace a few other things as well and I although I CAN spend the money, the more I spend the longer it's going to be before I get the gsx running again. So 330+ for a Fluidyne or 180+ for the Koyo.

BUT! are the Koyo's decent? has anyone ever used one before?

Every store i've seen lists them as the same price as the fluidyne... I'm sure you'll hear some "chinese product" blah blah not as proven... but I doubt there are any significant benefits of the fluiddyne over the Koyo... i think i'm going with the koyo for my car...

I'm interested in the Koyo also. Anyone here have one? Is it the same capacity? How well is it put together?

1-800-248-8720 or www.1800radiators.com, same place, but thats the phone and website have great deals. Personally i havent got one for my car, but my dad has worked on some cars and the owners bought their radiators from there such as a Tahoe, 64.5 Mustang, f250, and a few other cars all for less than 200, and you can choose from OEM, and aftermarket. I was quoted 169 for two year warranty, 149 for one year warranty, OEM i checked it out for you, hope this helps
