First off I want to say, what a great year last year, and couldn't have asked for anymore out of this motor.
My plans this year is to try different turbos on the car, and over all have another good year with minimal breakage!
First things first, run a 9.50 or faster with the stock 6 blade hx40 with the bep-70ar housing!
Second see what the car will run with a hx35 on it!
And third, have a little fun with a evolll 16g on the car, which should be fun, and me being the first to run that small of a turbo with a dogbox trans!

I'm not going for any records, on the 16g turbo, so don't think that.
I'm affraid I'm going to get bored with the car and part it out, so I need to try different things and enjoy the car.

Also I didnt want to here, about the batmowheel hx40 not being a true holset, so i gave it to
Justin, and will not be running it on my car again.

I believe I'm the one that needs to apologize for that comment (batmowheel on the hx40). I didn't mean to start any problems... I can't wait to see what you (and your car) have in store for the 2012 season! (batmowheel or not!). Keep us all updated!

No worries man, no apology needed, i just want to switch back and run the best time with a turbo that anyone can have without installing a new wheel!

I'm most-excited about the Evo III 16G....this is going to be a full-on internally-gated Evo III 16G mated to a ported 2G manifold. To my knowledge, nobody's ever raced a 16G with a Dogbox trans. If Dave can get enough weight out of the car, I think the results are going to be ridiculous.

Drop the rev limit a bit; set it right to where a 16G stops pulling. Of course it will spool way quicker than a HX40, so launching should be a no-brainer.

I'm going to mod the actuator to hold at least 30psi; I may try to find a Subie cover so we don't need a j-pipe. Aside from that, it will be the same 16G that anyone can buy.

Fun times ahead!

I have been working on trying to get the car lighter, and it doesn't seem like there is too much more to take out from last year!

I took out some more wiring that was left in the car thats not being used, I cut out the metal that connected to each rear strut tower, and also cut out both the front and rear sway bars! I can't find anything else to take out, so as soon as the weather clears up, im gonna take it to the land fill to weigh it.

There's been talk of building a full exhaust and making the car legal to compete in DSM Eliminator at the Shootout this year....getting away from the bracket racing for now. Not many 9-second street cars out there, and that's exactly what wins in heads-up racing. Most of the guys running 9's or faster don't have full interior and generally go for big money in the Quick 16 class.

The car may even have a HX35 on it for the Shootout, trading some of those ridiculous trap speeds for a little more consistency at the launch. I'd be one happy camper to see him trap into the 140's and run low 10's with a tiny 54mm 7-blade HX35! :D

Maybe throw in an fp 68 hta into the mix. That's would be nice to see. :) plans look good for the new season. Good luck

Thanks! The fp 68, isn't something that we have on the shelf that we could just through on the car, so that probably wont happen.
We are just digging up turbos that are at Justins shop, and trying them out!

I'm hoping for 9.9s at 140 with the hx35:sneaky: I'm also thinking about putting a 14b on the car, and see how close I can get to Phils 11.49!
I;m really thinking my setup is really going to like the little turbos, or I could be wrong! we will see.

I don't have one, and honestly I don't care enough to try one. It's close enough to a 20G that I'd probably just run the 20G instead as Lucas English has already pushed a 68HTA.

The cars a beast though keep on truckin and I am sure we'll see some great things again this season. :hellyeah:

I never said i was gonna take The 14b record, note how i said "see how close i can get"!
I'm doing this for fun, and thats it. If i dont have fun with the car this year, im parting it out.

Car hasn't had a 14B since you and Gabe made your women launch your DSM's outside of Stryker's party back in 2006/2007!

If I recall, the only reason the 14B was on the car at that time was because the SBR G50 had taken a shit for the first of many times. ROFL

Yeah that was fun, didnt have much clutch left after that night..LOL

Yeah, I'll give my car away before i ever put one of those crap turbos on my car again.

Dave if you part the talon I'll be in line to buy the shell just so you know :D I will drive all the way with a damn roll back!!!

:sneaky:Especially if the hoosiers and those rims go with it

But in all seriousness good luck this year!:hellyeah:

I could se dave coming close or beating the 14b record. Mr. Peepers went 12.004 @ 115mph on a 14b with street tires, a sidemount and a safc on e85 and probably around 3100lbs race weight.

I think street tires should go back on the car for the smaller turbos.

I don't believe you'd gain as much at the launch as you'd stand to lose in MPH after floating down the entire quarter on 12psi in four tires that have no sidewall reinforcement.

Could be my brain over-thinking things, but I know it's a hell of a lot harder to push a loaded wheelbarrow with 10psi in the tire than it is with 40psi in the tire.

Drop the launch RPM, let the smaller turbo's torque bring you out of the hole without spinning and give it hell from there. Hell even the taller first gear in the Dogbox is going to make a huge difference in the way the car launches with a 16G versus a synchro trans.

Looking to run the gsx in atlanta with our hx40, this summer i hope. Work with my uncle to get the gt-r out too, hes a car fan maybe hell upgrade, whatever he gets ill own soon. Since hes keeping the super bee charger to play with, Im looking foward to a fun track year.

I wanted to update this with my latest purchase. Got my ETS 5" thick race intercooler in today, what a beast! Last year I was having 70* + IAT increase by the end of the traps, I'd say thats in the past with this beast!!!

Have you been able to weigh the car at all yet this year? You know we've had some freaky good weather here in PA over the past few weeks. haha. Pisses me off my car is in a million pieces. I know when it goes together it will rain every day.

Good luck this year!!

Doesn't matter- PRP will likely cancel/postpone the first few scheduled events as they're nowhere near finished adding lanes to both the street and slick staging areas as well as building a new bathroom facility.
