Race motor in 2g?

I want to put a built 2.0 race motor into my car. Either that or my father and i were going to either build it up from the block. What do i need to know about 6 bolts, 7bolts? I dont think i want a 2.4l stroker or anything. Im just wanting to build a nice FAST motor. This is mainly because im wanting to keep my car in tip top shape, and wanna hit low 8's or low 7's in an 1/8 mile.the motor in right now is 105,000 miles, and my dad wanted a father son project, so we were going to do this. Ive got money set aside for this, hate to throw numbers out there, but im looking to only spend 5g's, is this possible, and where do i need to look?-- am i just a stupid newbie?---Tony

Can check out the link above to see what a built race motor is gonna cost you. You can also build up your current block, but I believe it to be a wiser choice to build a 6-bolt instead of your current 7 bolt. I would call Slowboy and let them know what you want to do and what you are looking for. There are other companies that do this, Slowboy was the first to come to my mind. Good luck

number of bolts that hold in the crank, that wasnt my question( i will make this easier for you)- thanks though ass , anyways, the question was do you need to use their race head with Slowboy Racing's Stage II short block:
• Eagle rods
• Wiseco or Ross pistons
• Clevite rod bearings
• Clevite main bearings
• ARP rod bolts
• Block surfaces are decked

Go to the FAQ page and read EVERYTHING there, for starters. that'll give you all the basic info you need about dsm's.

Honestly, It doesn't sound like you know to much about these cars and engines (does your dad?), so I'd read up on how EVERYTHING works. Make sure you know what your doing before you start this.

No, that is a shortblock. Meaning if you get a built 7 bolt short block it will bolt up to your stock head. You dont HAVE to purchase their built 2G head for it to work.

Is this forum not to give people information? He has no idea about those sites, how does he learn about them. Oh thats right, by making a post. haha maybe you could tell me the right answer then,(im in the newbie section to learn dumbass ) instead of bashing all day long. But maybe your to busy working on your Car: 98 Talon TSi AWD
Bolt-on Mods: stock
Engine Internals: stock
Suspension,
Wheels & Tires: stock
to try to help out others, but oh wait maybe you dont know. Hell if i had a tsi, you'd think id atleast have some mods or atleast free mods at that. Stop flamin' and Bashin' on me and go work on your car. If you'd like you may come by sometime at the track, and show me that tsi sometime, and all the glory it beholds. how about you keep your smartass in another post or out of the newbie section, if your just gonna flame.
