I mean like i like the ss its light weighs about 2700-2800 pounds has no lift shit launch control lsd which is an option.. but the car it self is blah. interior is plain.. lots of plastic and the seats are not comfortable at all.. the performance is up there though. I Caliber I like it's not as cheap looking as the cobalt and the srt motors are strong as hell.. I was looking at used evo's but a majority of them are modded.
 
I'll lay money down and say the Ralliart will spank the SS (I work for chevy),and the dodge caliper(JUNK) will most likely be thrown out like the neon srt4..The mazda will be the best bet for any good performance and power..I've never believed the hype over the cobalt ss I ve seen one fixed up and its not that fast. He pushed 18 psi and it got ate up by a srt4 neon pushing 16 psi...
 
Cobalt SS, hand's down. It was less than a second away from the Evo X on R&T's racetrack review, and it put to shame a lot better cars on track-time, such as the Civic Si, Mazdaspeed 3, and Caliber SRT4. I think it even timed better than the low-end 911 - I'd have to dig up the magazine and look. I drove one and thought it was quite a good handling vehicle right from the factory.
 
how bout not buying a car from a company that wont be around in 3 years....

SS Cobalt turbo? I thought the Cobalts only came supercharged. Are they turbo'n them now?
 
The only justifiable upgrade from a FWD DSM, is an AWD DSM. :)

If you have to step out of it, get RWD or some AWD.

You're car obviously was not powerful enough to have the regrets of FWD setting in. A lot of us here did.. me included. ;)
 
I too would have to say Genesis coupe (2.0T), probably best bang for the buck and HUGE aftermarket support that grows every day.
 
The Genesis coupe is a nice car, but don't buy something that just came out, waste of money. Depreciation Value people, give it a couple years and save thousands.
 
Ok Folks, I blew a head gasket 5 months ago, and have been trying to get my Talon running ever since, buying parts as I go, and having other things not fit, break, and finding more worn out crap with every instance that I turn a wrench. This car has given me incredible amounts of fun, but has also been the bane of my existance lately!

I want to know how many of you have ever thought of different ways to destroy, maim, beat down, or otherwise hurt your beloved DSM. Feel free to be as descriptive in your plans (or what you actually did) to make it Rest In Peace.
 
im pretty sure every DSMer has thought about killing there DSM LOL whether they admit it or not is a different story.
 
Many times I've wanted to kill my old 1g awd when working on it late at night hoping it will get me to work the next day. Ultimately I always felt these situations could have been avoided with a little more patience and research. I just chalk it up to a learning experience and I have a 2g that reaps all the benefits of knowledge now(and patience).
