Its heavy yes, but a cf hood n hatch save even more weight :D

My audio system will bring this into the light truck weight class rofl.

Just looking at the plumbing for the turbo's would give me an idea on the headaches with mods on these.

I laughed at the stereo comment.

Depending on what year it is you can still use 1g datalogging software such as TMO and MMCD on that car...

Looks pretty though!! :thumb:

Nice car, sorry to hear about your eclipse. Good Luck with the 3si, those are a b1tch to work on. My buddy used to own a 97 VR4 TT and boy I hated giving him a hand..everything is so freakin crowded and spark plugs and wires alone are like a motor installation in a DSM (sarcasm). Congrats on the purchase:thumb:

The 3kGT VR4 is actually one of my favorite cars, heavy or not. The problem is, every part is a freakin special order around where I live, my buddy had to wait weeks to get parts for the car. If I was to get a 3si, it has to be a newer body style 3000Gt VR4 TT, but looking at the prices almost as bad as Supras, Id go with the Supra Instead.

Very nice, i've always like those. It is a DsM, but its not as easy to work on, so good luck on that end!

Well its a dodge and theres a dodge dealership within 20 minutes of my hosue :D

and a local junkyard has a few of these just all broken up so parts may not be a problem

the engine is a pain, it is so cramped, but its kinda nice that the turbos are underneath. at quick glance one may not notice it is turbo.

for the records i got this at an amazing price. 3000

anyone know if the timing belt snaps on these, do they end up like a dsm with no valves?

$3k is a very good price, i would have definitely bought it! It is going to be very difficult to do anything more than routine maintenance and things like struts, tie rods, etc. Turbos wont be fun. It does have a timing belt and im sure thats not easy and i believe its an interference engine as well.
I've always loved the 3kvr4 and stealth tts, but the difficulty of working on them is a turnoff to me. My buddy has a 3ooZX tt that i think is a sweet car and a blast to drive. But that thing is a pain to work on, if not impossible, and makes you glad you have a simple 4g63 that you can fix with ease.
That stealth is sweet though for sure and has a market value of at least $10k by me

Unfortunately according to my local mitsu dealership, all mitsu engines including the eclipse, evo, vr4, etc have the usual "if the timing belt breaks, their goes your valves".

Nice purchase man, $3,000 is a freakin steal for that car. Keep us posted on your progress.

WOW that looks just like my first car, mine was almost new though when I got it (long ago and far away) I had the worse time with Tcase faluire, went through 3 on mine.

I wouldnt mind have another one, brings back some old memories.

Before the Talon I actually wanted a 3si soo bad, this is before I knew anything about cars. I wound up not getting one and getting the Talon because 3si's were so expensive. Kinda glad in ways I did, but I really wouldn't mind a 3si. I think they are so nice, I've also heard they're crazy to work on though.

Hey guys,

I don't know how many of you remember me, I was super active a couple years back.

Well the Talon just got to be too infeasible for my daily routine so I had to sell her off. :(

Basically I needed something newer and a bit more well behaved (I.E. Reliable) for my new internship and to last me the last couple semesters of college.

So alas I present to you my new vehicle:

2001 Mitsubishi Galant ES (v6)
57000 original miles and carfaxed out to be a single owner that had it serviced regularly at the local mitsu dealer and never been in a wreck.

It is super clean and I think it'll do the job just fine.

I would like to thank Luda and all the fantastic members here at DSMtuners for their time and making such an amazing community in which to rely on.

Who knows, maybe after college I might nab up another DSM project. ;)

Hey everyone.. I don't want to do it, but I think its time to let her go. I'm looking to trade in my 1998 GST or sell it which ever comes first to get a newer car. I know I might hear it from some of you but hey all your inputs are welcome.

Well first of all there's no way I can go n/a.. it depends though on the car. Otherwise, I was looking at the new 08 or 09 Dodge Caliber Srt4's, 09 Cobalt SS Turbo, and even the 08 Mazdaspeed 3 if I could get that for a decent price that is because it is more than the other two. What do you guys think would be the best possible one? Considering the Csrt4 and ss first over the speed 3 because most likely they will be cheaper. Any other car inputs welcome. Give me some ideas on what I should go with :rocks:

Another one of these lame threads cluttering up the hangout.. Oh look it's from a guy whom only has 4 posts too! :|

i dig the cobalt ss or get a used evo not a fan of the caliber just my .02 from another guy with not many posts
