quick 1g question

there is a little cylinder thing between the fuse box and the stock air filter that is attached right by the fender in the engine bay. it has some wires attached at the bottom of it and a rubber cap on the top, i am trying to figure out what it is but cant find it in my haynes manual or anything. anyone know? thanks for the help.

i just found it today unpluged, its not the head light motor bc they work regaurless of whether its pluged in or not. here is a pic
