A few weeks ago I pulled the biggest of all bonehead mistakes. I drove away before I tightened the lugs down. :barf: Luckily the wheels stayed on and no major damage was done. Maybe.
Last week I took a hard corner and started hearing a clunking noise. I was almost home. Upon inspection my lugs are loose on the left front wheel, the same one that almost came off when the lugs were left loose the week before. Two of my lug studs were turning in the wheel hub, and not staying tight, yes I have and use a torque wrench (well, when I remember to tighten stuff anyway). The splines on the shoulder of the studs are smoothed off and they don't grip the hub anymore.
So, I'm off to buy lug studs; BUT, the ones I'm using on the front are longer than stock, becaue when I intsalled my Baer Track kit, the stock lugs wouldn't reach through my ugly Einkei wheels. At that time my buddy gave me some studs he just had laying around and they were perfect. Same diameter and shoulder/splines as stockers. No auto parts store can find me anything like my current studs.

Questions:
Did anyone else have to get new studs whith their Baer Brakes, or was it because my wheels are thicker?

Where is a good place to find a selection of lug studs? Small town Ohio parts stores aren't carrying them.

Are my wheels possibly compromised and caused the lugs to come loose?

Here's a few stats if they matter,
2g AWD, 13" Baer Track kit, 17" Enkei Sportline? wheels (on when I bought the car) 38mm offset, current lug studs are 12x52mm 1.25 thread

Thanks

RRE sells nice 52mm studs for our cars, but it sounds like you might have to replace the hub(s), too.
