1G Questions about boost leak test

Ive been tracking down this boost leak, it seemed like injector seals but I've done those twice now cleaning all the ports new seals and o rings and insulators, but it still leaks from somewhere around the manifold, I was wondering, could I remove the fuel rail and injectors and use little rubber plugs to plug the injector ports and the vacuum hose to the fpr, and then do a boost leak test to see if it isn't the injector seals

Did you check the vacuum port or the pcv valve?

Can you not locate exactly where the leak is coming from? Why do you think it's in the manifold? I imagine you could plug up the injector ports but I don't know how you'd do that or if the plugs would stay on under 20-30psi.

If your using soapy water you should be able to pinpoint the leak in that area pretty easy.

I can't even boost 7 pounds with out a leak its a fat leak, and because I did injector seals twice now, and it's the only thing I can think of. The leak sounds like it's coming from around manifold and I've used plenty of soap water but still nothing

That's a big leak if you can't get more than 7 PSI. What happened before you had this leak? Have you tried putting your hand around the intake and behind it feeling for a leak? With that big of a leak and you can hear it leaking, try grabbing the intake and puting light pressure on it from different angles and see if the pitch of the leak changes. If you can change the sound of the boost leak, you've found the leak.

Brake booster, fpr, pcv and bov, throttle body gasket or shaft seals are really the only things it could be around the manifold. I would have a helper supply the air while you test each of those

I always just put my hand behind the manifold and just feel around for air. A big air leak is usually enough to feel on your hand.

Couple of suggestions:

• Complete the BLT when the car is warm.

• Try the pressure test at different points you feel you may have a leak. It can help you narrow down your search.
  • After compressor housing.
  • After intercooler.
  • At TB inlet.

Don't rule out the possibility of the intake manifold gasket leaking (even underneath) in addition to the others mentioned. It can be tricky to track down leaks, but the soapy water method should do the trick.

^ What Nate said. Though the intake manifold gasket is less likely to leak compared to the other potential leak spots, it can happen.
