boost leak test

i am doing my boost leak test and air is comming out of the lid of my valve cover..... verry slowly untill i remove the cap.... what does this mean.

Try pinching off your PCV valve and re test it at the TB to see if it still comes out of the oil cap or breather vent. Make sure when you are testing you use a spray bottle of soapy water and look for bubbles.

Rings, valve stem seals, or pcv system. If you are doing the test by replacing the maf with a tester, the valve cover breather has to be blocked off.

Most likly your PCV valve is leaking. This is a cheap and easy fix. Just install this: 3/8" Kynar® Standard Check Valves | U.S. Plastic Corp. inline between your intake manifold and PCV valve. You can try pinching the line like liquidx said but I would get the check valve either way. Also as mentioned, start you BLT's at the throttle body inlet and once you get everything fixed, and it is holding to your liking, then work your way back.

i have been using the water bottle, i have every leak fixed untill this.

i was considering the pcv valve as it looks worn, and i remember having some similar issue with it making my dipstick blowe out while driving, 3 years ago.

does my ssq bov need a purge valve allowing air to only go 1 direction?

Glad you got it figured out. You can either get a new OEM valve or get the check valve mentioned above.

You'll need to recirculate your BOV unless you have a Gm MAF in blow through or running speed density.

yeah i plan on recirculating it, but it came with a valve so that air can only go 1 way on it that goes to the intake mani.... do i need that little valve cluttering my bay?
