Question Regarding the Entire Turbo System

[Concepts]

- If you get a 68HTA turbo, should you install an aftermarket wastegate on it? Should you install an aftermarket wastegate on any turbo for an upgrade? If that controls boost, does a BOV do the same, or does that just put air into the system/atmosphere to relieve pressure?

- Does the O2 Housing contain the O2 Sensor? Is that where you would install the system for a EGT Gauge (Wideband O2 replacement, etc.)?

- Do people put their external wastegate in their O2 housing? What does this do compared to having the ex wastegate on the side of the hot turbo?

- What do people talk about when they port their O2 Housing, or dump it to the atmosphere?

Alot of this stuff I think I know but I want to confirm, and I want to get the information from other people. Still relatively new to the mechanics of turbos.

I did some research on my own and here's what I've concluded:

- Figured out where the O2 Sensors are and where you would install a wideband sensor
- Still need to do more personal research on where the wastegate would go and pros and cons
- IDK what I was saying about people porting their O2 Housing

I should have found this thread sooner. I'm going to do some more research on how the vacuum works on a BOV (specifically the HKS SSQ), and then I'm going to do more research on which boost controller is right for me. Thanks for the response to my goofy post.
