I searched and couldn't find the answer to this....I know the top banjo bolt on the fuel filter is a 19mm. Is the bottom a 19mm as well?

I can't even see the bottom bolt, which makes this a bit difficult...

Also, what size is the nut on the fuel filter that you put a wrench on to counter with? And is it the same size on the bottom?

The top bolt on mine is 19mm....so I guess I'll go outside and use a regular wrench to see what size the bottom one is, because everyone has different answers....

The top is 19mm and the bottom is the same. Some wrenches just have a hard time getting to the bottom because of the space. I'll go outside and check.

the bottom is a 14mm,the 19 you feel is on the housing of the filter but the actual line itself is 14mm

No. I am telling you guys, the bolt on the top is a 19mm. NOT the nut on the filter...the BOLT that is on the very top is 19mm, then there is the fuel line, and THEN there is the nut that is on top of the filter. I know this because I went to Autozone the other day and the biggest flare wrench they had was an 18mm and it didn't fit on the top so I went home and checked what size socket it was and it's a 19mm. That's why I asked what the bottom bolt was because if it's not the same, I don't want to buy a 19mm flare wrench. Guess I'll just get a socket and see which one fits. :toobad:

Now I just went out to my car and they are both 19mm. Now depending on the filter brand it could be 3/4in. I don't care what anyone else says my fuel filter both are 19mm.

Thanks...I think we have the same one. I don't know where everyone gets off saying it's a 14mm. The new filter didn't come with crush washers, so I guess I'll have to buy some.

OK, I guess I did NOT explain this well enough. I do NOT need to know the size of the NUT ON the fuel FILTER itself. I need to know the size of the BOLTS that go INTO the filter. The top BOLT...the thing that is on the VERY TOP that you see first thing when looking at the filter is a 19MM BOLT. I'm asking if the BOTTOM BOLT is the SAME SIZE as the top one. Because the TOP BOLT is NOT a 14, 15, 17MM or whatever you guys are saying, it is a 19MM BOLT. NOT the nut on the filter itself.

And I'm having a hell of a time finding a 19mm flare nut wrench. Biggest I can find is an 18mm

Ok from top to bottom.

19mm bolt for fuel line
19mm nut on top of filter
19mm nut on bottom of filter
14mm nut on fuel line

There you have it.

You've got to be shitting me...so I bought a 19mm flare nut wrench for nothing. When I could've easily went to Autozone or Schucks and got one. Guess ill return it. Better yet, I'm going to just take a wrench and find out for myself when I get home from work. That'll clear all this shit up for me. Shouldn't take the easy way out and ask before trying myself.

Yeah I feel the frustration, I don't blame you. Just a little confusing...

Sorry to go off like that...I wasn't directing my frustration toward you or anyone else on this board. That was uncalled for.

I got home and checked with a regular wrench and it is a 14mm nut on the bottom. So I returned the 19mm flare wrench and got the 14mm. It was only $7 at Schucks but since I had to get the 19mm at Sears, I just went ahead and got the 14mm there as well. Hey, better get the good tools (Craftsman) than the cheap ass ones that might break or wear on you. All of my tools are Craftsman...well, 95% of them. Screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches, etc. Have never failed me. Lifetime warranty, can't beat it.

Is there a fuel pump fuse anywhere? I didn't see one under the hood or under the dash. I don't want to take my seat off just to unplug the fuel pump if I don't have to.
