Question about installing new clutch

When I put the pressure plate onto the flywheel, it sits on there by the short rods that are sticking out of the flywheel. Then i bolt on the pressure plate bolts. Am i supposed to bolt them all til the pressure plate meets the flywheel? I'm afraid i might bolt the pressure plate and the disc together too tight. Advice?

I read the VFAQ again and it does say bolt them down until they reach the mounting pads. So i am supposed to right?

Yes, tighten the bolts to 11- 16 ft/lbs.

and use the "blue" threadlock on the bolts

and torque the bolts in sequence so they push the clutch on evenly.
