I am getting ready to order the parts for my rebuild and was thinking about getting a stroker crank since i will have to pay to get my old one turned anyway. Im curious if i would still be threatened by crankwalk if i went this route. Im about to order wiseco pistons, eagle rods, fp2 cams, act 2100, and an lsd. Will i need to go bigger on cams? Also, who sells a decent crank at a decent price? The only ones i have found so far are in kits and they are around $2,000. Is there anything else i will need to do this? and will i need to buy rods for the new crank? I am hoping that i will not need dsmlink right away in order to drive to the car. The stroker is just an option that im trying find some info on right now. Thanks guys

Slowboy offers pretty reasonable stroker kits starting at 1200 dollars. You can just get a 7 bolt 2.4L crank and some wiseco or ross stroker pistons if you what to go a little cheaper way.

What kind of vehicle had this crank? Is the non-turbo spyder a 4g64? I will look into the sbr kit, thanks

I think im going to go with the sbr kit, $400 extra for the crank and bearings isnt too bad. I was curious if it would be good for my setup though: e16g, fmic, 550s, 3"turbo back, 1g bov, and afc2...but i do see a 50 trim in the future(a few months). would the fp2 cams be ok? or would you suggest going bigger(will i also need better valve springs?) thanks again

the cams should be plenty for your set up but you should go with better valve springs, slowboy seams to have the best prices on those too.

Will i need dsm link, or will i be able to get by with the afc2 for a while? I appreciate the help guys

I am not putting the engine together, but i am putting it back in the car. This is what i plan on getting so far: fp2x cams, the stroker kit, SI dual springs and retainers, ACT 2100, and the mls head gasket. Am i missing anything? Possible dsmlink, but not 100% on that yet.

well i'm actually considering a similiar setup and a dsmlink is definately in my future plans too. I just got my EPROM ECU because my car doens't come with one stock like the 95s. I would say that you could really tweak your setup. A friend of mine got one as put down 44 more whp than he did before. I'd say plan on that, its a good thing to have.

From the research that i've done, its just the block. Having the springs, retainers, and cams will definately help. But you take the block and thats the only thing that needs to be messed with for the slowboy kit to the best of my knowledge
