I'm haveing a little problems with my talon.
Starter is not engaging. I tried another working starter and same thing. I'm all out of starters right now and im looking for another Temporary solution.

ANYWAYS
When someone is in the car and turns the key as i tap on the starter it will work.
and will randomly work other times.

But my question is,
Is there a way I can wire up the starter so I can knock on it from the engine bay and trigger the starter for when I'm alone?

Thanks.

Wire a momentary contact switch to provide battery power to the starter solenoid.

With the key in the on position, push the button to crank and start the engine.

I already tried it.
Tried again after you guys posted that.
Just needed a bit thicker wire, and it worked

Thanks!

Even though you got it fixed with a larger guage wiree (odd that it worked, but weirder things have happened) Most anytime you can tap the starter and it will work, you first replace the solenoid, then if that doesn't work you replace the starter.

2 things can happen. THe solenoid sticks, or the brushes in the starter stick and when you tap it it frees up the solenoid or brushes and it starts. NO need to try and jimmy rig something that can be fixed by replacing a part.
