okay i have a 96 talon and im installing a push button and i wanna eliminate the need for a key altogether so what my question is can i wire the ACC to say the a/c button so in order to start my car id have to push the a/c button to power on the ACC and then push the ignition button? i dont have the a/c anymore so i figured it would be a good spot to wire it i dont think anyone would guess how to start it. if anyone has any write ups or diagrams id greatly appriceate it thanks guys.

Wow, is bashing each other really necessary? Wtf? Ya man I say do it. Try to make it a combo of buttons though as to all it harder to steal. Sounds good

if you decide to do this install a killswitch to your battery, i doubt most auto thieves would think to pop the hood to flip a switch to allow battery current to flow.. just my .02 :)

That is a terrible idea. You are asking to for your car to get stolen. All it takes is one less than reputible character to ride in your car, see that you dont need a key and just have to press a button/buttons to start it, and your car is gone. Every single car made since the 20's is keyed for a reason.

Lmao basically.... new cars have a wireless fob installed in the key... if you want to bypass the need for a key WITHOUT installing a transponder, you'd have to basically have your car (ecu, fuel pump etc) juiced 24/7... idk how your battery would take that. If you DID do it like that, I'd wire a flip switch of some sort in-between to control battery flow.

I have a push button in mine but still use my key

You can attach a switch before the push button that you need to flip in order to start the car. You can hide it anywhere like under the dash, in cup holder, in the center council, ect.

+1 to the kill switch idea. That's how I wired one on an older car, that's how my brothers was wired, and that's how my friend wired his. In one of the cars we put it inside the coin holder on the center console that had a rocker switch mounted at the very bottom of the coin holder. Unless you tried to find a couple quarters before you stole the car, you'd never even know to look there. My friend mounted his down by his trunk release button on the driver side. Easily accessible and you wouldn't think to look there if you couldn't find the key hole.

I think its a great idea!!! Something different!!! I did this mod on my jetta and I loved it, plus it always impresses the females when they get in ROFL......I still ran my key tho and I hooked up a kill switch inline and another switch to my fuel pump. If you are successful at doing this...I urge you to make a write up on this with pics so others can view.. Good stuff MaN.:thumb:

Well thats what i was saying like wire the killswitch/acc button to the air condition button so in order to start it you would have to find that button then push the pust start button i doubt anyone would think of the a/c button. thanks to everyone who didnt bash i apprciate it!

There is always lo-jack. My step dad has a small wireless chip on his key chain and it has to be within 10 feet of the sensor under the dash or else lo-jack tracks at and calls my stap dad. That would also be a good idea. But yea, do a little switch for you to push the a/c button that is hidden and nobody can see while your pushing it. :thumb:
