Ok so i'm a little new to the whole dsm street scene and have been looking at a couple of dsm's. I recently went to go test drive a eclipse the retard dumped the clutch and he didnt have the following: fuel injectors, boost controller, tuned ecu (not even a upgraded one at that its the stock one). So when he did that he blew either a head gasket or a head. I'm looking to buy it for 1500 but he's asking 2200 and i'm wondering whether or not its worth it. And to top it all off its a salvaged title. Below is the mods he had done to it thats in the car right now.

16G EVO TURBO,EXHAUST MANIFOLD,FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER,STAGE 1 BRIAN COWER CAMSHAFTS,GREDDY BLOW OFF VALVE,3"INCH MEGAN EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH 3" CAT AND A 3" TEST PIPE TO SWITCH OUT,HKS BOOST CONTROLLER,ALUMINUM RADIATOR,EXEDY CLUTCH KIT,LIGHT WEIGHT PULLEYSAND NEW UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS WITH NEW BALL JOINTS AND NEW CV AXLES UP FRONT.EVERYTHING WORKS.

Thanks for advice in advance and oh yeah i'm new so take it easy ;)

I'd also offer $1000 for it. If he declines, walk away.

Agreed. A salvaged title isn't something small. Yeah it has parts on it but seems like its been through hell. But in the end it's your choice

Ha well yeah LOL just waiting because he's asking 6900 and thats outrageous LOL i'm only gonna offer five for that car i'd offer 6900 if he had a 16g but its a stock turbo in their! and yeah daniel if you know anyone looking to sell let me know bro!

and if i cant seem to get it by the end of this month i'm just gonna get a evo or a subie sti!

BOO!

I'd seriously wait for that Talon. A good low mileage DSM is really hard to come by. KBB values mine at over $7,000. Do that body work on it and it will be worth more than you have into it.

yeah i really want the car but he has a death grip on it and i dont think hes even gonna sell it to me i mean i'm patiently waiting but gas is freaking high and i'm driving a v8 expedition until he sells it! But again i will give it time because i know it'll be more than worth the wait, i have some plans for that car! and i wanted to do some mods to it so i can walk the F*&% out of a subie! hehe i have a friend that thinks hes a bad a$$ because he has one.

A salvage title can mean an awesome deal depending on what it was for. You can dent these cars in a quarter panel and total them out. It could of been a theft recovery and just found months later in perfect condition.

This is a good point. My GSX is a reclaimed salvage due to an earlier accident. I saw the accident pics and except for some cheap paint the car is solid. It insures and registers just fine.

What also makes no sense to me is how people modify the car and expect the buyer to pay what they paid to get the work done? c'mon i'm not gonna pay you for the work done because i dont even know if you even had the work done correctly and people can always make their own receipts these days i mean i'll even admit i can make receipts myself but hey let them sit there and think they can get that i'd rather pay more for a bone stock one than get one that heavily modded.

-Thanks
