I just got my PR FMIC Today and I was looking through the piping and the J Pipe that came with it has a nipple installed on it. I assume for the MBC. I have the Hallman Pro MBC and the vac line that it came with is way too small to fit onto that nipple. I am wondering what can be done. Should I use the J Pipe I have already on my car (does not have the nipple yet) but it does not have MBC installed on car yet either. Maybe this nipple on the pipe is not for a MBC idk.

i say cap it off. not for the boost controller

That's exactly what its for.

You can go to home depot and get a different sized one and screw it in. (be sure you use some sealant to avoid a boost leak) or you can run a bigger tube from that to another piece of the same size, convert down to a smaller size, and run from that. The first option would be cleaner and easier though. Lol

I will see if the nipple that came with the Hallman PRO MBC will screw into that whole.

yah screwed right in there. :thumb:

haha yah. I put teflon tape around and some RTV Silcone around the top. Should be sealed pretty well.

You could connect your bov line there or the mbc line. That's what that nipple is for. You can also connect the mbc on to the intake pipe. Also the second line that comes off the mbc connects to the waste-gate actuator.

You definitely CAN NOT connect the blow off valve line there. There is no vacuum present in the intercooler pipe to pull the valve open.

I will be putting my mbc line there now that I have switched out the nipple for the correct size for mine.

There is vacuum present on the j pipe my good sir. Do your research. Bov will initiate flawlessly. I have a hallman mbc and so do many of my dsm buddies and this is how we got it setup. Thank you for your input. Very clever but not correct.

Its not about being right or wrong, there are multiple ways of setting up the vacuum system with out vehicles.

You are right there is vacuum in the j pipe, but its minimal amount compared to connecting the BOV right to the manifold. The manifold also see a higher amount of vacuum and initial vacuum of the engine since its behind the throttle plate.

BOV will work better when use with only a vacuum source and on the manifold or closest to the initial vacuum of the engine. I am sure you know how a BOV or diverter valve works, so the faster it receives vacuum the faster the BOV can respond to let all that positive pressure before the throttle plate vent. It is OPTIMAL to run it to the manifold and only have one vacuum line from the BOV the manifold.

You are both correct, Bryan is just suggesting the best/optimal way to run a BOV and a vacuum set up for turbo applications.
