I have the bb 5857 on a stock housing right now. I'm planning to swap it to a t3 hotside, but I just found a 62mm t3 hotside and may buy it to make a 5862. If I do this ill need to get a 62mm turbine separately.

I'm wondering If ill need to get the assembly balanced if I put that 62mm turbine on (pretty sure i will). Also who can balance it for me? If I stick with the 57mm and go t3 I won't need to balance the assembly since I won't touch the rotating assembly right?

Awesome, thanks for the good news guys...If I do this ill let you know how it turns out.

Well just an update for those PTE fans wanting to change components. They no longer make the "old" style turbine/compressor wheels. So, if you don't have a CEA style turbo, and wish to switch to a bigger turbine, you'll need to find used parts.

I didn't bother asking about the rotating assembly being balanced since the new CEA turbines aren't compatable with my 5857. Ill just be getting a 57mm T3 hotside...or maybe going with a holset :hmm:

Considering the turbo size you have and what you're trying to do I would a 7 blade HX35 with stock divided T3 12cm housing should do the justice for you. You can run that housing on a non-divided manifold and it work almost no different, I've ran several divided housings on a non-divided manifold with good results. You can probably buy a good used HX35 for less then what you would pay for the new wheel and housing.

Check out this thread, it will give you a good idea of what this turbo can do.

I've been reading through the holset sticky to see my options. I'd probably go with an hx40 so I have room to grow into it. I've got a lot more reading to do. All depends on how much I can sell this 5857 for. It's only got like 2k miles on it.

Hey boost, ill be down in Pasco sometime in the next few weeks on a Saturday. I know you and a buddy both have 600hp 2gs right?
