LOL well the feedback on that went a total 180 of what I thought it was going to. I bought my car when I turned 18 this march and have been slowly putting things on to it like my performance spark plugs, air intake and stuff like that. It already had the custom exhaust on it when I had it and i've been looking around for more parts that will make her just mean on the road and it seems that i'm not making the right decisions on what to put into it

This has to be about the most honest and rational response by an OP to one of these threads I have ever seen.

That attitude may well yield some dividends if you intend to get into true performance mods. :thumb:
 
I want to say hes talking about a setup that was rumored to come stock on some new bmw. I THINK i read that somewhere. Weird setup, think it was in one of the car magazines my daughter conned me into subscribing(her school always sells me shit LOL)

In all on topic truth, don't fall for the "supercharger" or "turbo fans" on ebay or even the "performance chips." It's all a waste of money. Just do some reading around these forums, troll or not, and you'll learn. :)

Borg Warner has developed a working model called the eBooster. But it is expensive and impractical.

So too have BMW, Audi, Toyota, GM, MHI etc. developed their own iterations. Some of which involve a clutched electric motor as a part of the center cartridge.

In case you have not noticed.. none have made it to production cars. Much of this is because of how much modern turbo tech has evolved.

These were all initially developed for low RPM torque on downsized motors and diesel emissions for EPA/CAFE and Euro5.

Here's one version of MHI's hybrid turbo that is used as a sort of exhaust driven alternator:

Similarly, they have run the generator as a motor to bring the compressor up faster. But on much smaller versions.. the scroll case and inlet look like they are for a very large displacement (hundreds or thousands of liters) low-speed diesel.

Port work, 3/5 angle valve job, cam upgrade, and static as well as rotational weight reduction are the only way to really increase power on an n/a.
