I'm looking into getting some "Prothane" brand motor mounts for my car. I'm assuming they will fit, Prothane lists the same mounts for all 2G's (turbo and non), in which case I'm assuming will also fit my '98 Spyder GS which has a 4g64 engine...although it is very similar to the 4g63. Mainly wondering if these mounts will work with an automatic transmission?...as I have seen a few sets out there that say they only work with manual trannys. Anyone that has any info on the Prothane motor mounts, and/or owns a set, please let me know about them...also how much of a difference they made. Thank you very much.

i suggest you just use window weld. that way youll spend only about 10 dollars, have no worries on fitment, and get the same results.

The pics basically show the following.

1 Motor mount out of the car.
2 Plastic cutting board (that your going to cut up)
3 Him cutting part of the board off
4 Him then wedging the part he cut off into the motor mount
5 Adding one more part to make sure they have no chance at moving
6 Applying "Window Weld" into the equation and covering the whole side of the mount
7 Smoothing it off and making it look even
8 Letting it dry for 24 hours
9 Putting them back in.
:)

I've heard of this process...but never heard of using the plastic cutting board. Is it really necessary?
