ok so heres my story long so ill kinda shorten it for you guys, so one day my car decided to throw me a check engine light so i check, bam TPS, than car stopped, it didnt want to turn on. the battery was fine, everything turned on but the motor, figured it was the starter, so i changed the TPS hoping it would turn on, i thought hmm maybe i should clean the battery posts since theres corresion building, as im trying to remove the positive with a wrench i accidently smack it into something, a spark lit off so i ignored it, so than the car would still not turn on,so i realized it would the starter, i jumped it so i could leave my friends house and by jump i ment push start, as i popped the clutch the motor begin reving up and down 1g to 25g back to 1 g and up to 3 g it was doing this soo much that i immiedtly turned it off, i also noticed that when i pushed the gas nothing happened and the brakes were stiff as if the car was off, someone please help me if anyone knows what it could be please help

I would like to help but i do not understand what you are saying..

but it sounds like it may be your ignition switch. your accessories may not be getting power.

turn your ignition to the on position without starting the car. see you you got power on your accesories. if not then you found where to start to look problem

make sure your battery is good and charged.

good luck

there edited so im just in a rush and the car is still at my friends hous since sat i dont know what happened

You have to a bit more clear with the problem. As TYGER1 said, we have no clue what you are saying. Don't use MSN language:nono: and try to explain the problem. So far all I understand is that, your check engine light came on and the car didn't start. Also, your car was idling very high as well. That's all I have made out of what you said and please correct me if I'm wrong.

if you have power to the accessories then you should have power to the TPS, CAS etc.. when you disconnected the battery and got a sparked the positive you may have blown a fuse or fried your ECU. did you have the negative side disconnected first before taking off the postive terminal?

the idle could be cause by a bad ECU or even alternator. with the car running and you try and accelerate with the pedal do you get a response? if not then recheck your TPS connections and all.

it is for sure an electrical problem unless your starter is crap. which can be easily tested.

ok let me see if i can explain any better
1. check engine light came on its because of tps
2. i change it, car stil didnt want to turn on, i figured it was the starter
3. i saw the battery had corresion, so i decided to clean it, as i tried to remove the cable i hit some part of the car and sparks flew all over the place, by the way the wrench was still touching the posts.
4. i push started the car with the new TPS, the idling went crazy, the brakes felt like the car was still off, and the gas pedal didnt work, it would continue to idle.

i dont know what i hit but whatever happened i messed something up does anyone know what happened???

like is mentioned before by sparking the battery cable to the frame you may have fried your ECU. also when you changed your TPS did you make sure that it was sitting at 0% meaning closed. it is very sensitive to adjustments.

It might be the ECM...computer doing an arkk like that can fry somethings on the ecm. Also it might have been a fuse why not check that.
Also you can tell its not the starter if you turn the key and you here a click click sound that is the solenoid doing its thing and you might want to look somewhere else first before coming back to see if it is the starter motor not the solenoid.

shit man fried ECU!? yes i did facing towards the motor i made go all way to the right

before you try and replace your ecu check all your fuses first along with all connections. if that does not work try and swap out your ecu with another one that works. if is starts then thats your problem. also make sure your TPS is set at 0% you can check this with a pocket logger

good luck

Im still having this problem might be the ECU, i checked the fuses and they are all in good condition, anyone else know?

well the car never turned over it was the starter from the beginning, but like i said i was cleaning the positive termenal on the battery and sparked it on accident, so when i push started it, the run went crazy

DAMN!!! i checked the ones in the engine bay, not the ones inside the car damn it thanks man!

Your post is very difficult to read the way it's typed. In the future, please respect our policy of using proper punctuation so that everyone can easily read and comprehend your posts. I understand you were in a hurry but many people here simply don't have time to try and decipher what you're trying to say with a terribly formatted post like that. Please capitalize the first word of every sentence and use periods to break up your sentences. I know this request might sound petty but if you want people to be considerate and take the time to help you diagnose a problem, the least you can do is take the time and type out your post using basic punctuation.

ok, im sorry ahahaha it was just the starter, sorry for making it a big deal, but thank you everyone for the help +1
