Well, that could be a problem. That means your ECU is seeing sporadic coolant temps, usually in the negative numbers all the time. Since it is wrong it tries to add a bunch of fuel to help warm it up, however it ends up flooding, making it hard to start.

Unless it was cut off, your 2g harness has a coolant temp sensor connector. It may look different than the connection on the 1g housing, assuming your using a 1g housing.

The 2g connector would look like the one in yellow...

However if your using the stock 1g sensor in the thermostat housing, it will be two spades perpendicular to each other. If you can find that plug, you can go to your local auto parts store(Napa, Autozone, etc.) pick up a coolant temperature sensor for the 2g, swap them out and plug it back in.

i forget what i thermostat housing i put on when i did the swap and idk if that makes a difference or not, but mine has the two prong thing in the front of the thermostat underneath the neck not going towards the back of the car like the pic shown.

so should i switch it over to the 2g thermostat housing? will that even fit on the 1g head?

No, keep the 1g. I was just saying, you can switch the actual sensors in the thermostat housing if you want. However, if you have no plug, it won't do you much good anyway. You can try to trace the wires back, it should come out of the engine harness right around that area, along with the front o2 connector and a couple others.
