QQ Guys,
What kind of mounts do you prefer? OEM? Polyurethane? Billet?

Personally I'm not a fan of vibration--I want to retain comfort, although my car will be performance oriented. At around 400hp, if you were me, would you stick with just replacing the stock ones? Or is anyone happy with another alternative?

Thanks in advance!

My Talon came with a set of namebrand aftermarket mounts (I just don't remember the brand) and even though they weren't super stiff, the vibrations were so bad that you couldn't see out of any of the mirrors. I kept only the upper engine mount when I did my 7 bolt swap because my OE one was too damaged and was happy with that combination for as long as I owned the car.

My current Eclipse has stock mounts but the upper one had separated into a few pieces. Even though I bought the whole Energy or Prothane mount kit, I've only installed the upper mount bushing and I definitely notice it. Not bad. Not uncomfortable, but noticeable. If I need to replace the others due to wear I will, but not before. And this is the only thing keeping me from getting the Boosted tubular K member.

For your power level and usage, I wouldn't consider aftermarket mounts or bushings unless you HAD to replace them and couldn't find a usable OE one.

I have 75A polyurethane mounts, and they definitely made the car rattle more. I've been living with them for years and am used to them; but if you want to maintain comfort go with the soft rubber OE style.

The only trade off at 400hp with OE rubber is that the mounts might wear out sooner. Depends on how much the motor rocks back and forth and your environment (rubber hardens and turns brittle sooner in a dry climate).

Steer clear of solid mounts- they will rattle your brain.
