I im also lookign into getting new ones, but i think i will be going with 65A Avid, not sure maybe 75A, but im affraid that these will be too stiff, here is a link of where i might get them unless they can be foudn cheaper brand new.. : Avid Racing Billet Motor Mounts 4-Piece: 90-99 Eclipse/Talon

only thing i dont like about Avid is that these only come chrome exterior, which i really dont like, but if i have no othe roption i guess that's all i got..

I like my avid mounts with 75a bushings

hey buddy, how stiff are these? im doign daily driving with this car(98 Eclipse GST), and i want something good, but not too stiff, i read that 75a is more for track, street and 65a was street/daily, but i dont want them close to factories, i want more of a sportier feel but not too much vibration.. :D

The only one I see that needs replaced is the one on the driver side near the timing belt! My motor has never shook like it did today it shakes everything.

Well I have found another solution, im going to do a write up in a little bit once I get the process perfected. It uses a two part liquid urethane that you can mix together to different hardnesses. Obviously more time consuming than buying them but a LOT cheaper.

To put durometer ratings into perspective. 100A is the hardness of a bowling ball

I've got prothanes in all my cars and all the dsm's. In a 5 speed vibrations are minimal on them, definitely a noticeable difference in throttle response too. Especially if all your bushings are worn out like my 3g's were.

The Much less expensive route then the avid mounts Extreme psi: Prothane Motor Mount Inserts for $67.95 With these, You will have to have you stock mounts pressed out...

Edit: is you car 5spd or Auto? Because the front and Rear inserts of that first kit Will Not work in an Auto.

Click here For Avid Mounts from Extream Psi $271.98 quite a bit cheaper then from PR in the link above.

He doesnt have an auto but just for A/T guys... i have spoken with the guys over at Extreme PSI and one of the guys there has a built A/T. They only put the FRONT Motor Mount Insert IN! It puts to much stress on the rest of the car with a A/T if you put them in the front n rear.

Not sure if the 2G's have the same issues, but you may want to check this out:

I have no Idea if that's a problem with 2g's...

But, They are a bit brutal at first. But,they kinda wear-in hell when I first put mine in I had to literally hammer the drives side one in. It's a tight fit at first but not anymore it will slide right in now...

I removed the balance shafts at the same time So I'm not sure if that made the vibration worse or the mounts themselves... But I'm use to it anymore. I thought that's how all Dsm's were suppose to feel LOL

I found these! Prothane Motor Mount Inserts 2G DSM Turbo (M/T Only)

are they any good? the price is good but I wanna know if anyone has used these before

That's the same thing I posted above from a Supporting vender on here for $67. Only difference is those are more expensive...;)

Just got done yesterday doing these on the 98 GSX and neither tranny nor driver mounts had trouble fitting. I could push them down in by hand, front and rears are just press in junk and had no problem fitting at all.

My 1g on the other hand..... I hate doing them. Rubber mallet and a friend jumping up and down on the motor was the only thing that got them in. LOL

I'll never buy anything for my dsm off eBay! Maybe interior stuff but nothing relating to the engine bay

Prothanes are prothanes, it's not like buying a type-s BOV and getting a knockoff. I've bought 4 sets of prothanes all from the same company on ebay. Each set came in in less than 3 days and never had a problem.

Ebay has gotten a bad rap in the past (and for some good reasons), but a lot of the stuff up there these days is name brand, or just as good or better than the name brands.

If you are smart about your purchases (just as you should be no matter where you buy from), ebay can save you quite a bit of coin and you'll still end up with quality parts.

Just stay away from the turbos. :)

It's not like a product is bad because its on ebay if its a brand of a product sold elsewhere theirs no difference...
It's the people selling the things on their that you have to use common sense when dealing with...

It you only need/want to replace the drivers-side mount you can buy it seperatly Click here Yes it's on ebay but notice it's the same product an the seller has 99.9% feadback.

Well I have issues with using eBay in general! Paypal isn't my favorite company either! They have screwed me over so many times ### customers didn't want the item got their money back and didn't send the item back. And have paid for things and they were never sent. And there's nothing paypal can do about it even though they confirmed the refund! But. Think I'm going with the ones on my link

I go threw Extreme Psi not only Are they cheaper but you'll be hard pressed to find a single person that has ever had any issues with them... I've deal with them Many times over the years myself an have never had an issue...

WTF what you talking about???? Avid racing doesn't have chrome mounts ROFL. They are polished aluminum mounts.

Just in case you are wondering...... Yes they do make your car vibrate(not as bad if you can live with some rattleing here and there), Easy install without any mods to the mounts, I got the 75A.

If vibration is your main concern I would say get some 62A mounts.

I was loosing alot of power of power with my stock mounts, replacing them all with the Avid mounts made a HUGE difference.
