So I recently took my 1GA to a local shop to get the power-steering system re-installed. The next day they called me and said because of my aftermarket exhaust manifold and external wastegate the power steering pump won't fit in it's OEM location.
I'm not an expert mechanic by any means but in my opinion it looks like there is enough space to fit it in the OEM location. The aftermarket exhaust manifold in question is the standard cast FP manifold.
I'm just curious if anybody has any insight into whether this is true or not. This is what the engine bay looks like right now:

Shouldn't be an issue with it. FP manifold is fine and the wastegate appears to be well out of the way of the original power steering pump's location.

It does fit, but very tight. For ease of installation/reinstallation, I did trim the p/s bracket as pictured below and also removed a little material off the corner of my manifold.

I think the water pipe has to come off to install the engine mount bracket

Edit: I trimmed the p/s bracket so I can get a socket on the last bolt, not for fitment. I did remove a little off the manifold corner to be able to remove and install it easier.

I will have to try and dig up photos. I ran mine without any trimming or grinding and it was perfect. I am mid rebuild and ditched the PS otherwise I would take a current pic.
