My power steering pump is screaming like a freakin banshee needs to be replaced before i go deaf. but i got a couple quick questions before i replace the only belt driven thing on my car that i haven't replaced this month.

Are turbo an non turbo pumps the same? Can I pull one off any 2G car?

the little cooling loop that runs in front of my radiator was partially crushed, probably when the previous owner hit a curb, do i really need that? can i just remove it and shorten the loop for the fluid to travel or should i get a new one from a junk yard?

thanks for the help guys.

Are you sure the pump is bad. Make sure since you have had things replaced that all the belts are tightened to spec. I thought my pump was bad, and it turned out that the belt wasn't tight enough. Hadn't had a problem since.

yea I'm sure, I pulled that belt off the pulleys and the squealing stopped, and I put it on pretty tight last time so I'm pretty sure its not just slipping because of that...

You can use the power steering pumps off of any 95-98 eclipse or talon with a 4g63 or 4g64.

Thanks man.
Any comments or thoughts on weather or not that cooling loop is necessary. I figure most things are done for a reason but is a power steering cooler really necessary?
