I have a 99 GS-T Spyder with a JDM motor in it.. my problem is.. Ive gone through 3 belts now and non of them fit.. Actually had a guy at the auto parts store say he cant even help me. So do the JDM motors have different power steering belt sizes or what? the stock belt that came off of it was MD189129. Had a belt ordered that was supposed to be the same size at this belt but its about .5" too small.. tried everything imaginable to put it on with no luck..

I have the same motor in my 96' GS-T and had to exact same problem.

You need to take the bracket that holds the power steering pump off, you need to take the pump off the bracket to do this. There are three bolts that hold the bracket to the engine, you need to replace the two that are that are side by side with longer bolts and some spacer nuts. You can get some from the hardware store.Put the spacer nuts between the power steering bracket and engine, This should give you enough extra girth for the belt to slip on the pump; snug as a bug.

I realize this is 5yrs old, but for future reference to those who have purchased a 2g JDM 4g63 engine.

You can keep the JDM bracket / power steering pump on the engine, and use the following belt with no modifications, which was in stock at my local AdvanceAuto:

Dayco 5040250
It is a 4 rib belt that is 25" long.

The belt that comes with the JDM engine is MD189129 and is 25.39" long. The problem is that you need to order it overseas, and takes at least 10 days for shipping.

I had zero problems fitting the Dayco belt. :thumb:
