I own a 98 gsx auto and My belt that powers the power steering flew off it gave me a brake light batterie light and automantic transmission temperature light is it safe to drive home? I'm worries about the tranny I figure the rest would be fine if I had a Manuel

Its not your power steering belt that's an issue. The other belt right there is your alternator belt. And from the dummy lights you are describing it has either come off, or your alternator is dead. If you decide to drive home you are going to make it as far as your battery lasts. Take another look and make a decision. You can change an alternator out in a parking lot in about 30 minutes (if its your first time).

A pic might help. The front 2 belts are the alternator and power steering. it sounds like the alternator belt flew off, causing your car to run on your battery (maybe why the battery light is on) your antilock brake might've locked up (just a guess but possibly why the brake light is on) and I'm not sure about the transmission light. Are you far from an auto parts store? Buy a new belt and if you don't have tools ask if you can borrow some. Shouldn't take long to replace just the belt.
