So my car recently started having this weird issue. When I make a 90 degree right turn I will lose almost all power. I can take off slowly and give it steady throttle an when i start to turn I basically lose all power but car doesnt die. I can either straighten out the wheel or shift gears. I have had this happen in both first and second gear.

I know my fuel pump is running weak and needs to be replaced. My car will start first time on a cold-start after turning over a couple times. On a warm-start sometimes the car will sputter real bad and struggle to keep the rpms and 750. alot of time it will dies unless I give it throttle. Once I get in gear and start moving the rpms and idle returns to normal.

My car has had this warm-start issue for awhile now but the loss of power on right turns started last night. Any ideas?

note: my car runs real lean w/o fuel adjustments via MAFT pointing to a faulty pump.

The car does seem to knock less with a full tank and gets worse as I run lower. I ordered a wally 190 and an install kit. Its weird how I lose power when making right turns but not left.

How would I go about adding more grounds?

Subscribing, my tsi does the same when making 90 degree right turns. It feels as if it is losing power and then in a matter of seconds it dies.

Mine doesnt quite die, It drops rpms quickly until I straighten out the wheel. And the gas pedal loses all power to raise rpms until the car straightens out. It feels like something is just choking my engine.

Ill update if I find anything out or get any new information. Pump wont be here for a few days...

edit: where could I tap a FP gauge to check running pressure, Is it on the opposite side of the fuel rail from the fpr?

edit: Also when I do a warm start and the car startes to sputter and struggles to stay alive the yellow coolant light flickers on and off. idk if this is important but I dont seem to be losing coolant and my car never overheats.

Would it be possible that something was moving in a certain way when making right turns to cause some kind of a short? I would think if the fuel pump has just gotten so weak it would happen on all turns and going straight.

I will go have a look today if it clears up and take some pictures. I found this thread where a guy says his battery wasnt secure and would slide on right turns causing a short and killing the car.

I will look around all the steering column and all moving parts for something out of place hah...
Thanks again to everybody

Sorry for the bump but heres a few more symptoms that I think may be related.

A few days ago my passenger side seatbelt stopped moving and is just stuck in place. I know this can be caused be a bunch of things so I didnt really think about it.

Today when I opened my car door to pop my hood the door ajar light didnt come on and I belive that it normally does. Car still started but was idling at 2k. I only let it run for a couple minutes.

Could these all be cause by bad grounds? To my understanding the two main grounds come off of the negative battery terminal (black wire with yellow stripe). My black and yellow wires do look pretty aged and are showing some good metal right next to the terminals.
