my car is British Racing green with a mild pearl. the only problem with it is that it is a macco job and and after the first year its just down hill. its still my baby

I did my car with the stock white and Lexus Galactic Grey Mica. Thinking about finishing of the whole car in the grey now. It's been a year and it still looks great, but I don't know how easy it would be to sell. And I don't like the attention it draws. Or how easy it is to spot. I don't like cops knowing my car from a mile away. I did all the work and painting myself. I was planning on having a slightly different shape to the line, but it wound up being too hard to tape off. I wanted it to be perfect, so I went with the easier path.

Early carbon fiber hood my buddy had sitting around and is going to hang on his wall. Beer, airbrush and artistic talent created the flames last night.

Oops, I guess I don't have the picture of the Talon bumper light surround. I will do some more looking for it. This is the H2 or 3 grille light surround.

I really want to get my car repainted. All black, nothing fancy. But I'm afraid it's going to cost an outrageous amount. And I know I can do it myself with a roller, but I don't trust my rolling skills enough to try. How much do you think it would be? All black.

Depending on who does it, how much prep work they do, and what paints they use, could range from $400-$2500'ish.

You could consider spraying it yourself, it isn't really very difficult. Practise on some scrap metal before hand. If you see my gallery, I painted the car myself, and I am by no means a professional painter. I sprayed it a bit to thin in the door handles, which is less than noticeable.

Whats up guys. So finally my car parts have all be ordered. New headlights, front end, rear end, cf hood, tail lights, reverse lights, side skirts, and fenders. Time to take the car to the paint booth. What colors we got that goes with red? I got a cf hood and cf mirrors with a gray leather interior.

Here is my car and don't flame me as it was painted this color in 2000 before the fast and furious movie. After the movie every where I went people said why did you paint it to match the fast and the furious. I just kept my mouth shut but was tempted to repaint it a few times.

I would have loved to send the bill for that paint. I did a custom paint job on my R1 last year and the blue alone was over three bills. Wouldn't have been bad but thats with my commercial discount. Gotta love tri-coat paint..... well, hate it while painting it, love it when getting paid for it :D

I painted my car in 2000 with sikkens paint. It was 750 dollars for 1.5 gallons of base. Cost me in total about 3500 for paint materials in 2000. You could add at least another 25% to that now. Of course I did get enough paint to do it twice. The green is made up of mostly yellow. I will stick to house of kolors or kustom shop now because I get a hell of a discount.

Thats money well spent though, Sikkens is a great paint. Im partial to HOK, but if a customer wants to save some money I usually recomend Valspar or Matrix, both are cost efficient and hold up fairly well.
When I painted my R1 I went with Chromabase, which is pretty good but fairly pricey, Unfortunately that Yamaha Blue is a little tricky to mix. All in all ended up costing right around six bills but theres a couple different things goin on in the paint. Two designs on a small canvas is a pain in the ass. It's got a little too much goin on for me, i liked it at first now every time i look at it its yelling at me to repaint it LOL I'll post a pic later just to have a bike mixed in with all the sexy DSM's :D
