So my girl friend and I have been talking about marriage. I have a little story to tell before I get started on this whole thing.

Ok so several years ago, I bought a 92 Eclipse (my 3rd DSM) in a town about 3 hours from me. Bought if off a guy who seemed pretty cool and we stayed in touch. I ended up locking up the engine and was looking for a 1G AWD DSM. I told him to keep an eye out. Well not long after that, he facebook messaged me and said that he knew of a person trying to sell a 93 TSI AWD. Gave me the number for the guy and I called.

The guy said they wanted 700 bucks for it. So I told him they had a deal. Come to find out, it was his daughters DSM. Who happend to take her 3 year old son to daycare that was owned by the guy I bought my Eclipse off of. his wife.

She was in her early 20's. I spoke with her, she texted me pics of the car, and we texted frequently. Found out she had an eagle talon tattoo. Right then and there, my best friend said that her and I would end up getting married some day (I have an eagle tattoo on my back and a mitsu logo on my hand). I didnt really even know her at all at this point. She was just selling a car I had intentions on buying.

So, I went down and got it. Just had to replace the coil pack before driving it home. I promised to keep talking to her through text messaging because she wanted to stay in touch with me. She owned the car for 10 years and could never part with it. She wasn't really trying to sell it. She had offers and people come look at it but could never go through with it. She found out I raced dirt cars and have owned a handfull of DSM's in the past. So she opted to sell it to me.

I left her place with the car. Guess she threw herself to the ground and started crying. Not long after we left, I accidentally texted her instead of another girl I was involved with "MWAHHHHHH". I was pretty embarrassed.

Anyway, long story short, we have been living together and dating for awhile and love eachother very much. We get along very well, she is just as into DSM's as I am, it's amazing.

So we have been doing some talking about marriage. For the longest time, we said we have wanted a "First Launch". Screw that first dance stuff. We had planned that we would do the first launch in our Talon (aka Felicity).

Well, she really wants the talon back. So she is buying me a 92 Laser RS Turbo in mint condition in exchange for her talon back. The next convorsation about marriage after this agreement changed a little. Since we understand I wont let her drive while doing the first launch, and she wont let me drive Felicity doing the first launch, we came to an agreement that we would drive separately when leaving the church. ####ed up aint it? HAHA.

Anyway, we took this marriage thing to the next level. We want to get married at the shootout. Not this year, but maybe next year. Get married between the two staging lanes at the Norwalk Drag strip on shootout weekend, then line up our DSM's for a race following the ceremony thing. First launch, first race, first win, first loss, first arguement.

We are very competitive with eachother so you can imagine how much trash talking we do on one another. She thinks she is going to cross the line first? Pshhh. Forget it.

So I was wondering, what would we have to do, who would we have to talk to, etc to pull this Shootout marriage thing off. Do you think it would be cool? And yes, you are all invited to watch a newly wed husband whoop his new wifes ass down the 1/4 mile :hellyeah:

Haha on a serious note, I think it would be a kickass wedding to attend, a little weird place, but I have been to stranger HAHA. And congrats to you two btw. I would assume you would talk to the track owners/operators about that.

Also pics of the dsm's OR BAN HAMMA!

I say get up with David (Buschur) and see if he's willing to let you guys do it. I'm pretty sure he has a hand in organizing most of the shootout along with the other big names. PM him on either facebook or EvolutionM and I'm sure he'd be more than willing to help you guys out.

Sounds like a great idea! Wish my wife was into cars at least a little.. I married the complete opposite of myself I think, LOL. Would be cool to have a woman who's as interested in a DSM/Evo as I am. I say props to ya bro.. Hope you guys live a long and happy life together!

If I can get engaged on the now defunct East Coast Road Trip, you can get married at the Shootout.

The real paperwork can be done at the magistrate's.

Haha. Thanks for the awesome replies guys! I was thinking I would have to contact the track and David. Just wasn't sure how to handle it. I will have to get ahold of him on facebook. More idea's would be sweet if you guys have anything to add to the whole thing.

We haven't really been the type of people in a normal relationship. The marriage thing would have to be badass if we are having a wedding period.

But yea more ideas for the wedding would be kick ass.

Good deal!

My fiance and I have also discussed this. Either at the shootout or at our local drag strip. She loves me and she loves her dsm. BUT NOT THAT MUCH!!! Your a lucky man. I'd love to see this work out for ya. i know when we went to aruba we looked into getting married there and basically it seems to be you can have the service wereever ud like. You just have to go to the magistrate office to make it official. I believe they prefer to have the paperwork taken care of before the wedding is to take place.

Best of luck to you. Maybe There is hope I can convince my girl still...

People get married at professional sporting events and all kinds of events so I'm sure it's possible if you get permission from the right people (likely track officials and David Buschur). Good luck figuring it out and congrats on finding a girl cool enough to want to do something like that!

That sounds like all DSMers dream girl/wedding. Im jelous. Best of luck I hope you can actully pull this off it would be a awsome wedding and very memorable like all are. Congrats!

You could have his and hers tow trucks waiting at the end of the track too. How cute : P
