I recently got my car back from the transmission shop. I had sent it there due to a bad master cylinder and hard shifting. Let me list the symptoms I had prior to my latest problem:
Tried all the other gears. Nothing there either. I forgot to try going into reverse though. Anyway, I towed it back to the shop and they are telling me it's most likely my clutch. While I believe them, I don't want to ask them to replace my clutch if it's something less serious. I already wasted $250 by having them work on it. And a transmission shop couldn't tell me that my clutch was wearing out? I'm tired of being ripped off and I need some sound advice.
Edit: This is a 1996 Eagle Talon TSi. AWD transmission. Currently running an XTD stage 4, 6 puck (Previous owner installed it less than 4 months ago. I bought the car back from him this past November)
- "Sticky" shifting. It would go into gear but it was hard to move the shifter around. Even in neutral it would barely wiggle.
- Clutch pedal went soft.

Although, this does sound like a clutch issue. But also could be that they didnt adjust the master cylinder correctly if at all. Check out this video and make the adjustment and see if it helps. If not you might have to look into replacing the clutch.
