Hey friends. I picked up a 2g talon tsi from a buddy. It was sitting for 13 years. When ever I get to a moderate to heavy load the car pops the 100 amp alternator fuse. Is this a common issue? I've checked out the wiring and nothing is obvious or out of the ordinary.

By "moderate to heavy load" are you referring to load factor or RPM? You can reduce your load by dropping your boost pressure to see if it happens at the same factor but load doesn't really affect alternator. RPM sure does, though.

Are you certain it's moderate to heavy load only, or just when it pops, it's generally about the same time after you started the car?

If you're popping it at higher RPM even with low boost, I'd get that alt tested or just swap in a replacement.
