Hello all,

I had never had this problem before, but I wasn't surprised it happened at first. I was on the way home last night and noticed my cluster lights didn't come on, and also noticed my tail lights were out. Sure enough, popped the "Tail Light" fuse under the hood. I replaced it, tried again, and it popped instantly. My passenger tail light holds water (which ironically, I'm replacing tomorrow) so I was almost positive this was it. Disconnected the light and removed it, fuse still popped.

Then I removed the other tail light, and it didn't pop right away but a few flips of the lights later and it did.

So my question to you guys...is there anything I can do to narrow down this short? Are there any commonly known issues that would cause this? I appreciate any help :)

Solution
Replace the fuse with a 12v incandesent bulb (tail light, marker light, etc. - just not an led) to help find short and save on fuses. Bulb will be on while there is a short. Will go off when you disconnect the device/circuit that has the short.

That's awesome...Thank you :D

I'll let you know when I find it

Found it...it was the positive wire going to the license plate lights :)
