Oh of course. High school drags is coming up and I plan to dominate. I def need to practice, Ive never really launched my car hard.

Do you guys think this set up could reach 300hp at my elevation? I know its harder up here.

Nice work looks like its coming along if you need any 2g parts or any help PM me I am in Arvada and my brother and I both have 2g's that made really good power on a 16g.

Maybe I will see you around at some car meets.

Keep up the good work!!

Haha nice bro. I go to Grandview. I always like some friendly competition. Nice mods by the way, we have pretty much the same thing going on. Theres a few evos at my school who think there the shitt. I want to find some gear head friends around my area. Some of my friends are into cars, but unfortunatly i know the most so i usually cant get much help. Most kids here have mommy and daddy pay for work on there cars as well

I was just up at thorton area last week end. I was getting my ecu socketed by bert, he's up in longmont. He has the cleanest dsm I have ever seen in my life.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I will hopefully have dyno numbers by the end of the winter.

Aftermarket 20G compressors can be found cheaper than OEM MHI Big 16G compressors....now is a great time to take advantage of that fact.

Buy a 20G compressor wheel and send your rotating assembly and compressor cover to G-Pop; they'll balance the rotating assembly and machine your compressor cover to match the 20G wheel. Suddenly your turbo will gain 4 lb/min of peak airflow with no more than an additional $100 invested over buying an exact replacement wheel. ;)

I have.... He quoted me 300 plus for new compressor wheel, and complete rebuild. No way im going to spend that on a turbo that I got for 150.
That included the standard TD05H rebuild cost of $150, plus a replacement MHI Big 16G compressor, plus a rebalance. I can see where you're coming from, paying $150 for the turbo and having a total of $450 invested....you would have been better off buying a new Evo III 16G from FP.

HOWEVER, if you decide to tackle it yourself just do as I suggested above. For your $400 or so total investment you can have a 20G instead of a Big 16G.

The evo 3 16g is a better turbo than a 20g I as well as countless others make more power on a E3 16g than on a 20g I even know a person that switched from a 20g to a 16g and loved it.
For example my brother and I went to a dyno day at MAC and I made 318 AWHP uncorrected and 398 AWHP corrected on 25 PSI with my stock motor with nothing but ARP head studs. And one of the guys there with a 20g made 392 AWHP corrected with a built motor with a 1g head and running more boost. I don’t know what his uncorrected #s where but still I would stick with the Evo 3 turbo it’s a bad ass turbo that makes great power. :thumb:

My best time at the track with my 16g is a 12.63 @ 113.7
My brothers is a 12.39 @ 114.3 he is a better driver than I am!! :shhh:

Mitsubishi 20g Turbocharger Price: $539.00

Mitsubishi EVO III 16g Turbo Price: $499.00

EVO III Big 16g = 42lb/min
20g = 44lb/min

2 lb/ min difference and you can find a used evo 3 16g for a lot cheaper than a 20g of any kind
I like the 16g more in my opinion

Hey guys, another update:

So I solved my turbo delema from above. Just picked up on this lil snail tonight: Tdo6 20g

You've come a long way man, keep it up!
I wish i would of taken pictures of progress i've made. :(

A little update:

Well I just graduated High school! Feels good. For a graduation present I got a tool box :)

So Ive changed turbos 3 times in the past 2 months. First I had a big boost leak behind the compressor housing. Bought another 14b and threw it on. I was still having boost creeping issues. It was spiking to 21 psi. I was getting 4 Degrees off knock so I bought a good non cracked 6cm housing and ported the piss out of it.

I also had a spare 2g intake manifold around. So I cleaned it, ported it, and painted it. The first week I was out of school I put that one on. Boy was that funn. While I was at it, I put in a EGR block off plate, and deleted all my emissions. I bought a rebuilt 1g TB with only 1 vac nipple on it, and put the FIAV bypass plate, deleting those damn coolant lines. Bought a non cruise control throttle cable put it on as well. Bought a 1g dodge garage mod BOV, because the stocker was leaking at 15+psi. Cleaned up the engine bay really good. I really like it now.

And thats how it sits today. Its nice having control over boost.

Currently Im not buying anymore parts for her. Its hard not to but Im trying to buy a reliable dd to commute to school and back next year and let my baby relax in the garage for winter. It sucks when you have a 20g external wastegate set up just sitting in your room waiting to go in. Thanks to anyone who looks!

I got that same toolbox!!! You get it on the Harbor freight sale? I did and for the price I paid it is doing great! LOL Good build so far!

For 170 bucks at harbor freight it is a great deal. Im holding off on tools because next year I get a huge discount on tools at school.

And maybe it just you. I cant tell if its leaning towards the right, I might have to check my motor mounts
