What color would you paint your transmission?

Black it's not seen anyways and oil leaks mean you did something wrong. Bake it in the oven and when your wife gets home she will certainly be waiting to beat your ass when you come in from the garage!

that looks like wrinkle black on top of globs of wrinkle black, why so blobby?

This is how the freshly painted transmission sits in the engine bay. every bodies opinion was taken into consideration so thanks to all once again.

I couldn't be happier with the results.:thumb:

I like it.

Doing in your home oven isn't the smartest thing. You've now contaminated anything you ever cook in it again. Besides the fumes in your home.

I cleaned my trans at the car wash this summer when rebuilding it and even did some sand blasting but it would have taken way more hours than i wanted to spend to blast it as nice as i wanted it to look.. Since it was clean i used a silver paint from puff-can, then cleared my trans with 2 part eurethane clear to add some life to the puff cans finish (never liked spray paint, but with good auto clear it can be decent)

I agree that if you don't have a pretty well stripped bay it really wont' matter but a lot of my work has been to uncover the trans specifically, as seeing bays that are tucked and clean with a clean trans is one of my favorite DSm'gasms's LOL

Clean the HELL out of it and pray some high temp silver! the paint is actually pretty durable, mine looked good for quite a long time..

I think painting it isn't a bad idea the more mods you do the cleaner the engine bay gets. (You will see more trans parts)

Paint it with that aluminum paint and call it a day.

I did the same thing and it lasts a while.
