Just wondering what weight/viscosity oil evryone runs.

We run 20-50 in all the porsche race cars out of the shop and they are turbo. But i've always run the mitsubishi recommended 5-30 (but synthetic) in my DSM. After talking with Darren at FFWD i'm thinking about dwitching my car to 20-50.

I guess i've just never tried it in a DSM, we pretty much stick tp putting teh thick stuff in our race motors since they are built "loose" on the tolerances to let them make their peak potential in RPM and power.

im running Mobil 1 15-50 synthetic. I used to run kendall gt1 20-50 in my old dsm with a stock motor, but i have a built motor now so i switched to synthetic. I saw a thread similar to this in the Link forums recently and it made me think of switching to the valvoline racing 20-50 as it seemed popular with people over there.

I am running SuperTech Fully Synthetic 10w-30 right now. Supposedly made by Penzoil, works good and is only $2.50 (or less) per quart

Mobil 1 5w30 newer vehicle synthetic. Stock bottom end, have ran this since I bought the car with less then 20K on it. Now has 65K on it. Guess a few more years & it will be time to switch to their 10w30 older vehicle formula ;)

Currently my oil pan has some Castrol 10W-40 Full synthetic inside. So that is what I voted.

I was running Mobil 1 15W-50 for a couple of years, but changed for no good reason really at the beginning of the race season last year.

I run 15w40 Royal Purple Synthetic as my engine is completely stock and driven daily but I need just a bit of added protection for when I go road racing.

It never gets that cold here 20W 50 all year.

10w 30 Castrol dino oil. My motor has a few thousand miles on it, and I still haven't decided if I'll switch to synthetic or not.

I am running SuperTech Fully Synthetic 10w-30 right now. Supposedly made by Penzoil, works good and is only $2.50 (or less) per quart

Tell me more :)

What is this rash of oil threads this week? All you're going to get from this, or any other automotive site, is guesses, anecdotal and unsubstantiated stories, and tales of what everyone's father always did.
