Please post how long you have been running your stroker and if you have any problems with it.
I want to get one and leaning to a 6 bolt 2.3 but mabye will change my mind depending on whaty you guys tell me.I have heard some shops like buschur don't like or trust the stroker motors but other shops like magnus sell them and seem to think they are fine.

So lets here it from some of you guys that actually have them.Lets here any opinions, problems etc you have had with your stroker.

I will be running a 6 bolt 2.4L. I have yet to get any miles on it so I couldn't tell my impressions as of yet.

6 Bolt 2.4L 10.0:1 compression Ross/Pauter 527whp. 2+ years daily driven. The only problem I've had is that I ran off in a deep puddle once sucked in some water and bent one of the wrist pins. :D Oh, and the stock balancer came appart.

6 bolt 2.3L stroker 8.8:1 compression, JE/Eagle, 653whp 1 year plus. Not a daily driver but definately gets driven. Only problem is that the timing belt tensioner failed and bent 15 valves/broke one.

I can say that Jeff does not only drives his car every day, but beats the crap out of it too (darg race and road race).

I started my 6-bolt 2.3L for the first time .n July of 2004. It has run fine ever since, and still pulls hard today. I have about 7K on it, and many 1/4 mile passes. I purchased my set up from Polk, with the Eagle rods, and JE pistons. Yes the JE's are working just fine, no slap. However I used the Eagle rods for a different project, and purchased a set of Oliver rods for the stroker.

The goal for my car used to be 600whp, not anymore. Too expensive, plus I'd rather dig my eyes out with a spoon than deal with the broken parts a car like that is going to generate. So, I've changed my tune a bit. Now, there is no hp goal, not 1/4 mile goal and not road course goal. The equation for finding the goal is me = happy. That's it. When the equation begins to look like me < happy, I will modify the car such that the equation once again becomes me = happy. Simple enough.

ROFL :thumb: that freaking rocks, its totaly my take on my car also. people always ask me what i want outta the car, i usualy say " I dunno, something thats fun & i can drive year 'round"

i am building my 7 bolt 2.3 stroker for my 95 TSI AWD. im doing 7.5:1 compression. it will be done in about a month.

Good luck building a 7.5:1 2.3L and keeping any strength in the crown of the piston.

I'm using SBR 6bolt 2.3 wiseco/eagle for 3k mil 20 psi 95 gas daily driven ... with no issues, I love it :D . It pulls harder then 2.0 with Wiseco 9:1/big rods.

Even that I recommand 6bolt 2.4 stroker

Ok guys after thinking about building a 2.3 from a 6 bolt that I bought 2.0 I decided to listen to another buddy who has a 6 bolt 2.4. I found one near me for 300 US just a bottom end but only using the block and crank anyway with 20,000 original miles.

So 2.4 time here I come. I have been hearing about crank breakage on these strokers but not sure if that was the 7 bolt or 6 bolt cranks. Not sure what to think about that.
Hoping my 6 bolt crank holds up.

7 Bolt 4G64.
94 Galant SOHC block and crank
2g 4g63 head
Eagle
Wiseco
16g :(
stock cams

12,000 miles on it. Runs well, great lowend torque with the 16g full spool by 2400. When its warm outside the turbo wont hold over 17psi after 5000 rpm.

6 bolt 2.3 for a few months now still working out the irks but I jsut need to learn more about DSMlink hehe
