ive had nothing but 1gs and im gonna be buying another one from a buddy on tuners. haha he knows who he is and its a 92 laser fwd turbo

400hp awd convertible is chicks car???

Can you get the same thing with a 1g?

That argument doesn't even work. You can't even get that with a 2g, considering the work that needs to be done to convert a Spyder to AWD. Converting an AWD 1g to a convertible is probably on about the same difficulty level.

It's hilarious how bent out of shape some of you jellybean guys get when others call your cars chick cars. ROFL

Anything with a 4g63 can be made to be fast. Who cares what package it comes in? It's all preference.

I would love a 2g for something new and different, I have owned 6 1g's and currently own 2 1gb's Reason is they are cheep and not hard to come by and dont look like any other car. I would own a 2g if i got a good deal on one or if people wouldn't try to sell a shell for 2+k

id have 2 say, Ive owned 2 of each, with only 1 of each running. the 2g running was tsi, the 1g running was 4g63 non turbo.

i think i had just as much fun in the na as i did in the turbo...!!

my heart is still torn =/

Well, I have owned 2 1ga AWD Eagle Talon TSi's. A white / black two tone, and a red / black two tone. (current)

Used to really want a 2g as I thought they looked better and I handled better. But there heavier and have a lot of draw backs IMO. The 1ga is my current car and my pick. It's lighter, simpler, and I think with enough will and $ can handle just as good if not better than the 2g. It also looks like nothing else out there, can't quite say the same for the 2g, while it looks sexier. And has a little more after market... I still prefer the 1g. It's more business IMO.

I've noticed a lot of people getting ants-in-their-pants in the Hangout, too.(names withheld to protect the innocent) Yeah this is a silly thread, but that's the point!

My GF likes the 2G, I like the 1G. I like it 'cause it's familiar, it's also MY car. Plus, they are cheaper, simpler, lighter, etc... The 1G FWD platform is SO simple it's almost a joke. About a year ago I decided that it's stupid to own a '94 Accord and a '93 Eclipse. I should just own 2 1Gb DSMs. That way, at least 1 would be running at any given time, I could just swap parts to diagnose problems, spare parts inventories are simplified, and so-on. It was a very economical decision. Now the GST is the DD, the GS is the rust-free garage-queen that doesn't run, and if I need too many parts I'll just buy a whole car for a few hundred bucks.

Maybe if I had just one expensive car, it might be a 2G. They are pretty.

i voted 2g but if i had a huge warehouse id have...
a white '91 AWD talon, a black '94 AWD talon, and a red '99 GSX (black leather interior) with a 2gb talon front bumper, 2ga eclipse twisty side skirts, and a eclipse 2gb rear end. :hellyeah:

i love dsm's . doesn't matter make, model, year.

:dsm:

Everyone, stop making things so heated. These are cars, not children (although I do beat my car) :D

Anyways. I love 1gs. But I have a soft spot for 2gb Talons, and if they were as cheap as 1gs, I'd probably buy one.

I love the all business look of the 1g. Plus the interior is pretty sick, everything is where it needs to be. I've owned both and let me tell you, I prefer 1g's. Reason being, 420a's and the bad reputation they created for real DSM's. Ricing them out, trying to race and have their asses handed to them. Well, now that I think of it that might be a point in favor for the 2g. :p Let them all think we are slow :D

How can you say 420a's give dsms a bad reputation. A 1g nonturbo 4g63 is slower than a 2g n/a 420a. The 420a's bore is bigger and it produces more power than a na 4g63 that come in some 1gs. :tease:

Arguing about which generation nonturbo DSM is faster is comical. It's like a slug race. Yawn.

Maybe it's just me... But it seems 420a guys always have something to prove. Like those 2 guys above saying they kill hondas (stock 1.6 or 1.5 non vtec? that's awesome) and stock turbo DSM's. But yeah, arguing about which NT is faster is pretty lame.

I placed my vote with the 1g talon sver since buyin my girl one I fell in love with it and wish I'd have kept it for myself LOL But I will find one for myself one day....

The 420a has a whopping 5 more hp than the 4g63NT and considering the added weight of the 2G you gain NOTHING... they're both slow period.

I know the 420a has only 5 more horsepower than the na 4g63 but the point is it's still more powerful. And yes the 1g is lighter which probably cancels out for the extra 5hp but thats beside the point. He was talking down about 2g 420a's when a 1gna is just as slow And yes, I am aware that both cars are not fast. Personally I love 4g63's, they are amazing engine and have been proven to be the best of the best many times, but I also like my 420a, it is reliable and can be built to be pretty darn quick. I love all dsm's because they are great looking cars with great potential. This whole thread is stupid, it's like a civil war that's why I don't plan on posting in it any longer.
