Poll: 1g vs. 2g

....."chick car", .....that is until you snap your passengers neck on full boost and it scares them shitless.......then they don't care what it looks like. Not to mention if your a single guy it's not a bad thing for chicks to like your car. My 2¢. I'm voting 2G chassis w/ 1G 6-bolt swap. I respect the 1G's though alot.

Had a 2G GST for 4 years, wanted to go AWD so I found a deal on a 1g AWD, I could NOT bare the interior style of the 1g, I thought it would grow on me but it didnt, so I sold it after only 3 months and came right back into a 2G...AWD that time around of course

I would venture to say that the 2g is more appealing to younger people (for the most part). I would be very interested if people posted their age along with what style they like most.

I’m one of the younger people who likes the 2G. And my young wife still enjoys a spirited drive in the Talon. But we’ve only been married for 44 years and we may have to grow up some day. Nah.

I'm 27 and have owned my 2g for almost 8 years. You need to stop playing the '1g is God' thing. It kills threads like this. They both have merit, and they both have weaknesses. You can't try and justify to people why they shouldn't like a 2g more than a 1g. Which is exactly what you're trying to do.

What? How did you think that was an appropriate response? You are asking for people who like 2gs to give their age, and what exactly it is they like. You're doing exactly what I said you are. It's like you cannot accept the fact that someone can like a 2g over a 1g. After being on this site for almost 6 years, and lurking or 8, it's no surprise or anything. But it's old.

And I have had a '92 AWD Talon, and a GVR-4. I prefer the 2g in everyway. Want to know my age, sex, location, job, college-backround, etc?

This argument will go on forever. I look at it this way.

It's like that old saying...
There are 3 types of women:

• Smart
• Pretty
• Single

Pick 2.

DSMs are like women:

• performance (smart)
• looks (pretty)
• runs (single)

Pick 2.

• Single and smart -> 1g
• Single and pretty -> 2g
• Smart and pretty -> Jack stand queen.

Jack stand queen - Sits on jack stands, still a work in progress. Last time it ran was 5 years ago when you decided to "refresh" the engine at the same time you were having it repainted. Then you decided that you may as well have the transmission rebuilt. Now the tranny can hold more power, you needed a bigger turbo, etc, etc, etc.

There are a few that are all 3 (both in 1g and 2g variants) but you have to work hard to get them. ($$$$)

Actually like I said I like them both, but the driving feel of 2Gs is just too refined for my taste. Plus I'm always hitting my knees on the dash. I'm not trying to spread that one is better than the other, everyone has their own preference and tastes of course, I'm just generalizing my idea that most 2G owners are probably younger. I first noticed this in the "post your age" thread, so I'm not just pulling things out of the air, I'm actually interested to know.
