I've searched before posting, but all the threads seem to be old. I need an inexpensive as possible logger. I've hunted on the internet and all and see a lot of 1g stuff but the 2g pocket logger I found was discontinued. Can someone point me in the direction to get one and will I have to have anything else to use it? I need an inexpensive (but reliable and trustworthy) way to monitor what's going on inside my car. Any help please

Yea I'm wondering the same thing. It seems that NOBODY uses the logger anymore. Probably because Link is so cheap now.

problem is I DO NOT HAVE 400 or however much to spend right now. That's why I was looking for something affordable until I can save up some more cash. Maybe someone out there will go look in the top of their closet and dig it out since they could afford dsmlink :aha: and sell me their old stuff at a good price. Everything that comes up I see and hear log, log, log, log, etc. So hopefully someone can help me do so.

Yep, I havent seen anything for the 2g we have looked and , havent found anything for his car. Im going to do it and be done with it soon link that is. Its time for it.

We can fabricate them. We normally have the 1G Data Logger Kits all day long but because we never saw any interest for the 2G version we rarely make them. PM me if I can help you guys out.

Man idk how you guys have missed this. Ive said it a couple times now, it surely can be searched...

Evoscan is a perfectly functional logger for 2g. Its works great in my 97 (and my 98 ecu) with this setup here.

However for a 95/96 Im pretty sure you need to get another cable. The one supplied there will NOT work. Tried a couple hours to get it to connect to my friends 95 Talon with Eprom, couldnt connect. You'll have to search around a bit but there are a few threads here illustrating what cable you need to run for your 95/96 with evoscan... Whn I was trying to troubleshoot I believe I found out the cables ran about $10-15 off ebay and work great. Wish I could point u 2 the threads on which cable to buy but its been a couple months since i read them.

Logs knock and everything tho, evoscan is great.

So you need a 98-99 ecu for EvoScan to work?

No it works with all 2gs you just need a different cable then the one linked in the package there to run it in a 95/96. Also forgot to note it logs alot slower in 95/96 then in a 97+ so you can only log a couple values at once (like knock count and throttle position at the same time for example.)

Since I have a 95, it sounds like the pocketlogger would be good for me personally and at a reasonable price.:thumb: So, since I'm such a n00b. If I understand correctly, I can get the logger, safc, and wideband to be able to tune and monitor my car correctly. Is this correct?

Awesome, now I have a obd2 to 9 pin serial cable off of ebay, can I get a serial to usb to work with it or will I need the cable from evoscan.

It might not sure. Honestly id just shell out for the kit//cable as I know 100% it works great and logs very fast for a 97+. Also im fairly sure pocketlogger has the same log speeds (sampling rate) as evoscan (bout 7-9 samples) but applies to ALL 2gs. So the same 2-3 values at a time applies there as well. I initially was going to go with pocketlogger as well when I first got my eclipse last year but since I had a laptop alrdy and found out sampling rates were MUCH faster on my 97(and also the fact it was discontinued LOL) I went with evoscan instead.

Would be nice, but since I got a 95, and I know jack sht about this right now anyway (LOL). I think I'll get with westcoast, as it sounds like it would work good for me. Plus it seems fair and reasonable for my pocket

Before you do anything.

Do you have an Iphone or Android?

I am also in the search of a pocket logger for a friend of mine. It's nice to have something small inside the car that can sound alarm, and can be attached to be viewed at any time.

I can get Iphone and Android (and also there is an Android port for Iphone already) :) So what's the deal?

I've got the iPhone 4.

Download Torque

If you can find it I personally don't have a Iphone. But have heard they have it also... .If anything like said earlier there's a Android port for Iphone. If you know how to do that... .

I Know they have it for a Android ( Since that's what I have )but either way here.

It pretty much explains everthing in the video.
He's a link to the only thing you need to buy Bluetooth-Scanner-Can-BusThat one is in honk kong, if you pay a bit more you can get one faster from the US.
Also in the android market theirs a paid version of the app that adds a few things like knock and what not it's less then $5 I asume that's the same for the Iphone

Thank you, sir! I installed the app on my Android phone. Seems like a nice little app. I will get a bluetooth transmitter. There are for like $8 on ebay.

Do you know has anyone tried that with a DSM and how does it work with a DSM?

Torque doesn't seem to be offered for the Iphone.

Logworks for the iphone seems to have the same idea even down to the obd2 wireless device. It's also free. I am not sure how it would do with a DSM. I think I may give it a shot.

I already have DSMLink V3 si Im not exactly sure why Im doing this. LOL
