Pocket logger?

I've searched before posting, but all the threads seem to be old. I need an inexpensive as possible logger. I've hunted on the internet and all and see a lot of 1g stuff but the 2g pocket logger I found was discontinued. Can someone point me in the direction to get one and will I have to have anything else to use it? I need an inexpensive (but reliable and trustworthy) way to monitor what's going on inside my car. Any help please

I downloaded logworks too, but the adapter is more than the logger I can get from westcoast. I'm definitely not spending more on something in hopes of it working as good as the less expensive option.

Torque doesn't seem to be offered for the Iphone.

That's odd I may have it mixed up with another similar app...Bottom line is theirs apps to do this... .

Either way Like I said before you still can use it. There's a Android Port for IPhone now... Might as well since it's better anyways

Evoscan is a perfectly functional logger for 2g. Its works great in my 97 (and my 98 ecu) with this setup here.

However for a 95/96 Im pretty sure you need to get another cable. The one supplied there will NOT work. Tried a couple hours to get it to connect to my friends 95 Talon with Eprom, couldnt connect. You'll have to search around a bit but there are a few threads here illustrating what cable you need to run for your 95/96 with evoscan... Whn I was trying to troubleshoot I believe I found out the cables ran about $10-15 off ebay and work great. Wish I could point u 2 the threads on which cable to buy but its been a couple months since i read them.

Logs knock and everything tho, evoscan is great.

I second this, I just ordered it and it was $77 for the cable and the software. That is CHEAP compared to pocketloggers. You need a laptop but a lot of people have those already.

Hi, Just wanted to follow up on your experence with the 2G logger. The post you quoted mentioned that you needed a DIFFERENT CABLE than what they noted you needed for a 95 2G (was that true?)

I have searched for quite some time and there is conflicting info on this topic, concerning which cable works, etc. Also, some of the info is old, and technology changes quickly. It would be very helpful (at least for me) and probably others who just need a logger (for now), for someone to verify -once and for all- what exactly you need and from where.

So, did your $77 get you a logger setup?

(I have a Palm and Laptop, anyone have proven experence -no guesses please-with what cable/software you need to log on a 95 2G? I know it is slow...only log a couple items at a time)

I know this is pretty old... .

But, just to clear up that last part about the cables. Either Cable will work for logging the cheaper VAG cables or the more expensive 1.3* cables that are guaranteed to work.

The problem lies in that you need to use Evoscan V2.5 for the 95/96 Any newer versions won't work for those years.
