Ok guys,

Doubt any of you know. I bought two cars for the price of a 6 pack. The 92 was hit in the rear end and the 91 had a wrecked valve situation. So i'm combining the two to make a single good car.

The wiring and everything in the 92 is untouched. Pristine. The boost control solenoid restrictor is still there even.
So here's my question. I REALLY want to keep the wiring harness to the engine on the 92 and put it in the 91. Would there be an easy way to leave everything attached to the engine and just unplug the wiring harness???

Anyone tried this?

To my knowledge the 91-94 cars are all the same. The 90 has a few different connectors but from 91-94 everything was the same so you could essentially unplug one motor and drop the other in. Are they both 6 bolt 1g's?

Yes, they're both 6 bolts. Where is the main connection? I thought it was under the driver fender but my memory is blurry. What other connections would need to come off?

There is no "main" connection. You would have to unplug each individual connector. The harness come's out from under the battery. I misread your question. No you can't leave the harness on the engine. It's not like a Honda.

^^^^^^this guy is right i just swapped a motor from a 90 to a 93 so i had to change the throttle body and coil pack ect but if you swap from a 92 to 91 there should be nothing you have to change

just unplug everything from the engine and drop the engine in the harness doesnt need to be changed

Never done crazy work on a honda like this... anyway. Yeah the 92 wiring harness is in really good shape. I think i'm gonna swap it before the engine swap. Just figured there might be a way. Would be nice if there was.

So can someone refresh my memory on where all the major harnesses are? Under the fender? Yada...

yeah there is one you just have to remove the dash to get at it as it runs completely to the ecu. dont do it just unplug each connect save yourself some real headaches its real labor intensive to replace the harness. what i would do is break out the solder and shrink tubing and replace damaged connectors with good ones off the other harness

Well I was asking because most harnesses in stock condition tend to get destroyed while undoing all of the connections. Just figured I could save some time and some hassle. I'm pretty good with an iron but then its not entirely stock, the way it was from the factory. I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to that stuff. I'm gonna be parting this 92 out due to body damage. Maybe i'll take my time on the dash to get an idea of the harness situation. Usually I just rip the dashes apart.
