opened the lights up in the oven and painted the insides gloss black , thanks for postin the picture....ill try and finish more tomorow !

How is the lens that clear?? Mine is not that clear and it hasn't yellowed or anything. Yours looks like a clear aftermarket lens.

Anyways, here is the car with the fenders and bumper on. The hood is still not on obviously. Enjoy.

Needs some body work but other than that I'd like to see the final pics... Its hard to pull off the flat/matte black look..

Holy shit that is so clean. I have been trying to find a flat black 1g for a long time. I might do a high gloss black when I get enough money to paint mine.

The lower moldings and the center door moldings need to be put back on. It was raining after I got the bumper and fenders on and all that shit so I didn't get around to it today.

The drivers door has a dent due to my neighbor backing into it...and passengers door has a dent from me punching it. Otherwise, besides tiny dings from the car being so old, it is pretty straight.

keep cleaning it ? Huh? It looks nice all together, black out the intercooler LOL, my headlights were pure yellow, then I used some cv headlight restoration stuff and it cleaned em, they were perfectly clear , after a year it faded a lil , I'll try to find the box to see what's the exact name of the stuff is

Honestly, no. It will gum up the gun real quick due to the rubber material.

I posted a link to that stuff a bit earlier in the thread, LOL. If you want to spray it, you could try to get your hands on a bed-liner spray gun. It should handle the thicker material.

Well I got the hood on and whatnot. Looks damn good if I do say so myself. Headlights go in tomorrow and then we are set....but this is it for the plastdip portion of it all.

3 things:

1- Now that the drip moldings for the 2g's are discontinued, I think this is going to become the preferred method of re-coating them.

2- What would this look like/ would it hold up better if you clear coated it?

3- It's looking damn good :thumb:

1 - This will be good to recoat any black part. I did the entire car, including all the stock rubber trim like around the windows and such.

2 - I have yet to clearcoat over the plastidip. So I can't say for sure. I wouldn't see why it would not work, as you can apply paint directly over the plastidip. People have used it as a "primer" except it is a lot better than primer because the topcoat paint will not chip off or anything.

3 - Thanks :thumb:

Why would you think that?

I'm confused on this one,
1- the rain channels are discontinued for the 2gs
2-I think this would be good for both recovering the ones we have now on a 2g and also for both 1 and 2gs on the top of the door.

Did I miss something I guess is what i'm questioning?

Edit- if you mean why would he think its a good idea to use this as recoating then I understand. The factory rain channels, drip moldings what ever you may call them come from the factory with a rubber coat on them and actually have a lip built on it persay that is not achievable by just re painting. Using plasti-dip the lip could be achieved more likely but not 100% I would say

I cant believe how smooth that looks. I like it.

Definitely going got do this with mine, though I think I'm going to do Grey and black. My only worry is consistently mixing the grey to the same shade.
