Yes, it is only the front. A guy I know did the roof of his Golf about 7 months ago and it has been just fine. Time will tell I suppose.

Hmm, 1 more concern would be weight. Im sure all that "rubber" has to be somewhat heavy.

Not really. You aren't caking "rubber" on that's the thickness of a tire or anything. You are merely applying a thin film. The thing you probably have to worry about is the aerodynamics of the car changing. The air may not flow as smoothly on this surface compared to a slick base/clear job. But I am sure it isn't going to add .01 to your track time so it is really a minute thing.

it wouldnt be anymore heavy then the ten cans so at most it would probably add 2lbs and thats being generous.

you have my friend and i intrigued were thinking of doing our cars like this making them match.

It would be lighter than the 10 cans due to all of the solvents evaporating during and after application. It really isn't adding much weight at all.

Getting ready to do the 2g with this. picked up a can to pay with.

I am a little concerned with what you said about pealing off. how do you think this will hold up to the front bumper eating a cone at 40mph. thats enough to crack paint off on properly painted rubber bumpers... am i going to end up with a peal across the whole panel and the rest pealing off shortly after?

or is this more of a gasketmaker like material.

anyone got a email i can send a pic to and you post it here, i cant upload anything right now, i started the front end of my 1g, it even started sprinkling and it didnt hurt it , just sprayed it and rain didnt hurt

How do you think it will hold up on the hood from the heat of the exhaust manifold? Will it melt or bubble or anything?

looks good, i would really like to see other colors also on a car, especially red.

i thought this was interesting

under the hood? Just do the top, its good up to I think it says 200*F, so the top should be fine.

As long as you still have the heat shield on the underside of the hood you should be fine. The paint doesn't melt off so it should be ok.

It's tsi4g63dohc's car, I just threw the pic up. Though now that you've asked, I want to know where as well.
