Plastidipped my car.

Yeah my 03 Cavalier DD is flat black primered. I was going to do the John Deere Blitz Black paint which has a final cost somewhere close to this stuff although it is MUCH more durable.

Neat idea though! I see myself trying it at some point on my BNIB GSX wheels from MOD

Acrylic enamel clear won't cause any problems with the plastidip. But I think it may defeat the purpose if you clear it.

Well, I understand that. I should have been more clear. I would like to do a matte look and was thinking black with a matte clear. This just looks easier to spray than regular paint so I was thinking of using it as a substitute and still using the clear. Not sure though. May just use paint and a matte clear after all.

Not sure on any of the other colors...all I know is what the black looks like. There is a picture on the plastidip website that shows the red color in someones hand. Doesn't look too bad. All of these would be a matte finish though.

Awesome. I hate to steal peoples ideas. But I have been trying to figure out what to do with my war beaten shell for about a year. Primer sucks but if i paint it well again it will just get beaten up again from autox and rallyx. I just have had no motivation to repaint it because of it... I'll probably do this in the next two weeks.

Yea, I used the black. It could be the way the light is reflecting off of the surface making it appear gun metal.

I have not thought about the snow. The only thing I can say is try not to let it ice over because if you scrape the ice off, it will probably scrape the paint off. It will snow here this year I am willing to bet. Might have to throw a car cover on.

I have not thought about the snow. The only thing I can say is try not to let it ice over because if you scrape the ice off, it will probably scrape the paint off. It will snow here this year I am willing to bet. Might have to throw a car cover on.

haha thats funny, the VW one was the 1st one I found earlier.

The mighty max is white right now, but I think I might go for the black. It'd help blend in the black anodized intercooler and go with all the black powder coated IC piping I have.

Sticks like glue...if you try to peel it and scrape it off, it will come off but otherwise, little rocks hitting it or whatever won't affect anything.

No I did not. Since the Talon's had the two tone paint, part of it is black and the other part is still black cherry. Didn't do the engine bay either. I probably won't do them, as it is too much masking and whatnot to worry about at the moment.

Both at the same time. No cracks or chips or anything yet. It's only been a few days and hasn't been driven around yet. So I can only attest for my Lancer....been like this since February and haven't had one problem.

Nothing will penetrate this stuff...if you have rust already, it will protect it from the elements so it doesn't rust further. If you don't have rust, then it will provide a barrier against the elements so rust doesn't form.

As far as the color, it is just black. It only comes in a select few colors and there is no "gloss black" or "flat black"....just plain black.

No. My word schedule sucks. I get off at midnight tonight and come back to do am 8am to midnight tomorrow. It will be Monday or Tuesday before I get the front end on. I am smoking out the headlights as well so....
