So I just got a 7 bolt motor installed in my 1999 GST and I thought I would take the cap off and look in the head. The 1st thing I see is plastic just laying in the head. Took the valve cover off and there are 3 pieces of broke plastic laying around. Anybody ever come across this issues and if so any suggestions on what it could be. I paid quite a bit for this low milage motor and I don't like what I found

How fragile is the plastic? It almost seems like part of that gasket that runs inside the timing belt cover. Not sure how the hell it would get into your head though.

Edit: NVM the shape isn't right. weird....

I'm thinking its part of a old oil cap. It looks similar and it's a pretty hard plastic. I drove the car about 100-150 miles before I noticed it. It's scary and I thought it was pretty unusual.

I purchased the motor from a place in north Carolina. They offered a 30 day warranty which is way past but I will give them a call and see what they have to say about it

Edit: the place is called TCS Automotive
